Back to Genshin after quite a while - who should I build?

My current main team is Keqing, Ganyu, Venti, and Bennett.

Another factor is I have Kagura’s Verity.

Preferably I’d like to keep Ganyu and Venti in my team.

P.S) Is there anything else I should know about the game? Like something that’s changed? The last time I played like consistently was the beginning of Sumeru.

Klee, Mona, and Albedo just got some nice buffs, you need to do a short quest for them to unlock

Venti also got a significant buff.

Said buff (Hexerei) activates once you put at least 2 units in that faction in the same team. You also have to level them to 70 and do their Hexerei homework quests.

Klee, Mona, albedo, venti, razor, fischl and sucrose all got buffs in teams where they have at least two of the previously mentioned characters in a team (you have to complete a short quest after getting them to level 70 to unlock it), given that you don’t really have any other really good characters that haven’t been powercrept if you are looking for a strong team for abyss or whatever your best bet is probably to pull on the Varessa or xilonen banner until you get at least one copy of chevruese (if you don’t like varessa
/xilonen you don’t need to get her, especially if you have a lot of primos as a few really good characters are coming up).

Klee’s best team right now is probably something like Klee/bennet/fischl/chevruese, chevruse gives atk buff + a lot of rez shred to both pyro and electro in teams with only pyro and electro units. Klee can also benefit from kaguras as at least a 5* stat stick.

If you don’t want to/can’t get chevruese, mono pyro is probably your next best bet with something like Klee/bennet/venti/flex or maybe vape with Klee/bennet/xingqui/venti (honestly, not too sure if this is worth using, I think Klee isn’t great for vape since she applies a lot of pyro)

If you have a bunch of primos saved, next patch has an archon equivalent character. If you care about meta it’s worth looking into whether you want her or not.

As for ganyu…. You can use her if you want but she’s definitely been a major victim of power creep. I’m not familiar with her at all but I imagine her best freeze team would also take advantage of the hexerei buffs, so probably ganyu/mona/venti/????. Alternatively i imagine escoffier would make a good venti alternative since she provides a massive 55% shred to both cryo and hydro in teams consisting only of those units, and then you could probably also replace Mona with a better hydro applicator. We’ve also gotten a good few off field pyro applicators, one of them being f2p as the pyro traveller, so maybe melt ganyu is okay.

If we get another faction buff like the hexerei buff for the mondstat units I mentioned before, it’s pretty likely it’ll be in Liyue and include ganyu so if you really want to use her, may be worth waiting until then.

You could *consider* using venti as an on field dps now as the hexerei buffs give him that ability, however since you won’t have either durin or probably c6 faruzan, you really don’t have the right team for it.

Another thing worth pointing out is that we have a permanent event now that gives up to 1 free constellation for most of the older 5* characters, I’m not sure if you can reach 8/8 on the current one starting only now anymore, but you’ll be able to get one on the next one.
