Geshin Impact Favourite Characters Voting Results
So, our 2025 Genshin Impact poll is complete.
In case anyone has forgotten, the goal was to choose the best character based on a combination of factors, in your personal opinion. Each person could make multiple votes at a time, but only one form per email address. 15,515 people from the CIS community participated in the poll. Special thanks to everyone who helped distribute the poll. Many popular content creators and TG creators shared these polls with their subscribers. So, the sample overall was broader than just Telegram GL1n.
The results can be seen in the table. ✏️However, below we can share some interesting statistics for the top 20.
By gender:
1. Women - 12.
2. Men - 8.
While the game has 112 characters in total, including the upcoming version 6.3, 36 are men and 76 are women. It turns out that the distribution of men in the top results is higher than the total for the game overall. It can be concluded that voters value men more than the developers realize about player preferences.
By region:

4. 🌿Sumeru - 2
5. 🫵Fontaine - 5

We see a clear dominance of 🫵Fontaine. However, ⚡️Nod Krai is not fully released and only recently, but it is already proving itself to be on par with fully released regions. The very first character from Natlan, is ranked 21st. And it's our beloved grandma, 🗿Citlali.
By release version:

Here we again see the dominance of characters released during 🫵Fontaine. But the current version, 6.x, also shows a noticeable rise.
By character element:

6. ❄️Cryo - 2

There's also an opinion that the characters of 🗿Natlan fell victim to hate from some of the audience. However, if we look at the distribution by region in the bottom 20 places:
1. 🌪Mondstadt - 6
2. 🪨Li Yue - 6
3. ⚡️Inazuma - 2
4. 🌿Sumeru - 2
5. 🫵Fontaine - 1
6. 🗿Natlan - 2
7. ⚡️Nod Krai - 0

And we see that the bottom 20 are mostly made up of 4-star characters from older regions, which the developers neglected both in terms of story and gameplay. The only legendary characters there are 🥥Qi Qi and 🗿Sigewinne. And 🗿Natlan doesn't stand out from the other regions. So, it's safe to say that the majority of the community didn't hate 🗿Natlan, but rather were indifferent.
From personal character statistics:
1. 🗿Columbina hadn't even been released yet, and she was already in 6th place.
2. ⚰️Hu Tao barely made it into the top 10. Initially, she was much lower, but after being published on various Telegram channels, her position changed due to attracting a more diverse audience.
3. 🗿Furina and 🗿Arlecchino also traded places with each other constantly, but always had a huge lead over 3rd place. But in the end, 🗿Furina won by a narrow margin of 30 votes.
4. 🗿Flins, 🗿Neuvillette, and 🍁Kazuha were in 3rd, 4th, and 5th places from the very beginning. Without swapping them or giving them to other characters, thereby demonstrating that they are valued roughly equally across the various parts of our community.

I mean if some other community knew about this other characters could have done way better
Like I said is almost like a discord chat that made a poll between themselves
My point is that the poll feels weird , here seems like are the same people to vote because the poll look almost the same , if you go to the cn side or hoyolab , you will see the ranking being way different
The sample size is too small and a telegram group that spreads the poll to the communities that they know will make their fav win , I mean , it should be in one place with a big reach and see what people think
Just the fact that hutao was super low and it spiked up when her fans learned about this , should tell how reliable this polls are
You need with this many players a poll with at least 100k people
If you make a poll about politics at the house of communists , what do you expect the poll to turn out
The poll shouldnt be distributed to selected groups, it needs to be on large public space , this way you have a wider and different views and opinions
If you tell a kazuha main to share this poll , he will share it with the kazuha main subreddit, I wonder what will they pick

also when you want to talk about ownership rate, drop one that is directly from Mihoyo, and not some Yshelper with a sample size of 70k meta players from the western community, obviously the broken Support will have more ownership rate than a dps lmao, using that same source, you have Escoffier with 51% ownership, so should i say she did better than Durin or other characters??

Only hoyo know the real data, but if we're purely looking at appstore rankings Flins did not outperform Nefer.

Despite 2025 lantern rite being an event, the story was actually well done and well written overall, and arguably better than a lot of archon quests.

All the fan art, memes and most this game's cultural impact is built off the female characters. The last male character to be remotely as impactful as low end female characters was Neuv.
Flins had more interaction and popularity than Lauma and Nefer.
I was looking at paimon.moe for wish stats and Flins had twice the amount of wishes as Durin, not sure how to compare everything.
But also Lauma has about the same number of pulls as flins and she is at position 25 in this ranking.
Of course male characters have a significant fanbase (around ~40% of the players are women according to HYV own data) but the assumption OP is making is complete nonsense.
Husbando players just keep coping and misleading themselves with these sample biased polls. Then cry about allegedly being mistreated

The equivalent of going to something like an higschool and taking your sample there and then saying it’s representative of the whole population of any ages. It’s skew your data. Here it puts furina forward and in hoyolab Flins.
Comparing the results between the 2 pools is stupid af when there's twice as many female units to split your 10 votes between.
At best this vote represents the groups where the vote got most traction in.

The votes collected via this poll don't reach a mere 1% of the playerbase (over 5 million players; 15k votes is 0.3% of 5M, even less considering that it's estimated that Genshin has a couple hundred thousand players past the 5M mark), and the developers have actual, ***real*** data on player preference and behavior for characters and overall banners.

Don't get me wrong, her character's tragic as hell and written VERY well....the same could be said about Ei and Nahida tho; both were imprisoned/stuck in their own respective ways for 500 years or more. And although all of these 3 dealt with their traumas differently (WAY differently), why aren't Ei and Nahida as liked as much as Furina? I understand that Furina's human and did what gods could, which is amazing, but still.
It can't be bc of how good Furina is in game, right...?
