They signed a deal with Apple. Android also gets locked to 60fps.

That's what you think, but it's possible. I'm just not going to explain why 60fps is better for gaming.
xyzqsrb02026-01-02 02:15
I'd like to hear an explanation

He has a crappy phone/PC/console and is reaching for cope to justify why people who have nicer systems aren't getting anything out of it and just wasted their money.

Same as volumetric fog/clouds being a Playstation-exclusive graphics feature.
With how quickly the game blew up, it's easy to forget that Hoyo was *not* an industry powerhouse when they were launching the game. They had to schmooze and "sweeten the pot" with the publishers to get the game featured in those marketplaces, and that's resulted in a small number of things being platform-locked.
Ravemst2026-01-02 01:18
Those features aren’t exclusive anymore. The Xbox version also has them and the only exclusive things left are the glider, sword, blowing on the controller to mess with Paimon, and that character nobody cares about.
DeadMemeDatBoi2026-01-02 02:31
The xbox version might be exempt from the feature locks because it came out way later

Idk why they didnt come for pc after the Playstation partnership ended at the start of 5.0
A bit of speculation, but many people believe that we didn't have free permanent 5-stars like the other hoyo games because of the deal with Sony

Even for 144Hz android phones, they limit the fps when those phone can go up to 120fps. Apple made an agreement so that Genshin can run up to 120fps.
This is purely just a tactic to get all players to buy an iPhone.
Android phones all have different graphic processors and each also have different chipsets combination which make it difficult to give out implementation in an immediate manner.
The 60fps is also the base fps that all modern graphic processors all agree to which in the actual sense the base agreed resolution is 1080p60 for modern phones and 720p60 for older phones
Extension_Trouble_442026-01-02 01:27
For PC, they simply uses the most basic graphic processing algorithm which is limited to 1080p60. They could try getting an agreement with NVIDIA to get an agreement so that their games can run smoothly on their GPUs. So far, Genshin does not support NVIDIA DLSS frame gen and super resolution unlike Wuthering Waves who already supported DLSS 2 and is about to get a support for DLSS 3
moriz02026-01-02 03:58
There's a fps unlocker for PC that allows you to run the game at whatever fps you want. A high performance PC can push ludicrous fps for genshin; the limitation for PC is entirely arbitrary.
So no, the fps limit on PC isn't because of "the most basic graphic processing algorithm", whatever that means, and most definitely isn't limited to 1080p either.
issm2026-01-02 02:29
> Android phones all have different graphic processors
Irrelevant.
Optimization might affect any specific phone's ability to hit and maintain 120FPS (as far as I'm aware, a lot of the iPhones this is available on can't consistently maintain 120FPS either), but enabling the game to go over 60FPS doesn't take any extra work.
And there is no "agreed" resolution or refresh rate, in the form of an industry standard. Just a general standard which most reviewers and enthusiasts consider to be good enough, and higher is always considered better, all else being equal.

Just use Genshin FPS unlocked from github. Gives u any fps u want. Using it for years now. Cant imagine being stuck on 60 lol
Lichii2026-01-02 02:41
Same. Been using it for years. Skips the hoyo launcher too which is nice.
-LoliKing-2026-01-02 14:01
And this doesn't get you banned? idk man....
gacha_savior2026-01-02 15:14
no, lol. Worst they do is when you use detected mod loader, they kick you out of game. No bans. Relax.
Marexn2026-01-02 18:58
I play the game on Linux, so I would have to figure out how to apply the unlocker. I assume you're talking about of the "34736384" one? My friend explained that Protontricks was what they used on for MH:Wilds. Maybe the same application there as I run the game through Steam as Non-steam game for the ease of use with Proton and apparently some of the permissions Hoyoverse has applied to allow the game to run checks what it's running on to give Steam a pass (this is just what I have heard tho, I cannot verify if the reasoning is sound, but given recent difficulties running Genshin through Heroic it appears as most plausible explanation).
LucinaDevotee2026-01-02 03:09
Just use the unlocker buddy, it sucks that it’s not official but it works perfectly fine.
