My whole thing is apparently the skin department never learned a different color besides blue. I have stopped giving a shit about skins because they just keep pumping out blue skins, which is dull. Like I am fine with some blue skins but when it is literally like every skin we have gotten outside of dilucs skin, then it's just pure laziness and lack of creativity.

Always the same problem: if you want change the shape of the skin compared the original one, at least change the color pattern! And here is worse because is always that usually blue+black.
The whole figure is different from the original one, because the OG one seems more a magician with a long tunic; this one is more Ayato/Zhongli.
And overall the skin isn't completely different

Well he is. In both his outfits now they've chosen to give him very broad, sharp-angled shoulder-pieces, and long flowing cloaks, which results in an overall shape of a rectangle. If it were different in the new skin then fine, but they've now made it very clear that that is their vision of how the character should look.
