Her design here is pretty similar to her current look. Does the book describe her appearance in detail, like the white hair, high ponytail, and yellow eyes? If not, how did they even know what Zibai looked like?"

>The lad turned to see a slender woman **garbed in white**. She stood beside a clear babbling brook, with beads of water glistening on her woven rush raincoat, her **golden eyes** melding with the rays cast through the forest by the setting sun.
>The village elder had said that there were once white horses that would leap from clear springs to become adepti to assist the campaigns of the Lord of Geo.
and then
>The woman snickered and extended her slender hand toward the boy. Her white skin glimmered under the rays of the sunset that shone between the bamboo leaves.
and
>The woman turned around, her golden eyes shining through the moonlight draping over her silhouette.
and
>
As night fell, the woman garbed in white began to recount many stories to the young lad, ancient tales that the lad had never heard before.
And several more mentions of her appearance. I don't think it says anywhere in the book about a high ponytail but seeing that she has a horse connection, designing her with a high ponytail to evoke a horse's tail is...not difficult to expect someone to do.

This one was commissioned by Hoyo

Commissioned by and "directed and created by" are two different things. There is a reason Hoyofair has disclaimers about being fan created and not canon.

Sure but something comissioned by Hoyo means there's a larger chance of them receiving other information rather than fans just going off the publicly available information.
Not saying Hoyo gave them designs, but they may have added details for them.

It's not really that much of a match outside of the white hair, gold eyes, and association with celadon, which have been mentioned in the game since the start. A character themed around horses having a ponytail isn't a big jump.

does that animation came from official source tho?
Pokefreaker-san2026-01-02 07:22
this is fan-made, but yes her existence/presence has been there since day 1.
