Coming back after long break
Iam planning to return to the game after i stopped during version 3.6 (very long break)
That being said what should i expect now are there any improvements or qol? What about the rewards for returning players and what characters should i prioritize?
And most importantly what's the game's size now on pc 😅
Thank you in advance

No fundamental improvements. There are tweaks around the edges, mostly to make some random mechanics marginally more consistent.
Endgame now has blatant P2W.
I don't know exactly how the mobile download process works, i.e., if you can download the game minus the quests you don't need, but I'd expect ~35GB download minimum for you.
They are right about the filesize tho it's huge
Artefact transmutation? Wow, now I have a chance at a good artefact for 2/20 slots of a full team, once every 6 weeks, assuming I can get enough flasks.
Compass buff? It's still not 100%, by the way, so if you actually care about getting *everything*, you still need to use third party resources. If you don't care about getting everything, then the buff doesn't matter.
Probably the biggest improvement is weapons banner only costing 1 fate point instead of 2. What's the general advice on the weapons banner again? Don't use it? Oh.
Condensed resin is now 60 resin, and you can choose to spend 20 or 40 resin in domains to get your farming done faster(and spend fragile resin directly)
Treasure compasses have been buffed massively, most notably in Nod-Krai but all regions have a wider detect range and detect more hidden chests than before
There's two new endgame modes, Stygian Abyss and Imaginarium Theatre. Stygian is vertical investment, meta powercreep, while Theatre is more about having a large number of characters and suffering a certain amount of rng while building teams. Spiral Abyss is still pretty much the same
Power levels have increased a *lot* since 3.6. Your best bet for wishing strategy is to save up for Columbina and Ineffa(coming soon!) as they will be able to amp almost any existing character to massive levels. Other notable characters worth pulling are Neuvillette, Mauvika, Skirk(+Escoffier), Lauma, and Varesa. Due to the power increase, I strongly recommend avoiding pulling older characters.
My characters are c0s1 Xiao, c1s1 childe, c0s1 Ganyu, c1s1 Itto, c0s1 Hu Tao, c0s0 Kazuha, c0s0 Zhongli and c1 Mona.
Which of the ones u motioned will be the most beneficial?
1. Daily commissions are basically skippable now. Once you spend 120 Resin on anything, you can directly claim the daily reward. (So if you’re just playing normally—exploring, doing quests, etc.—you’ll get it done naturally.)
2. Artifact crafting is way more controllable. Simply put, for each patch you played, you can craft one or two artifacts with the main stat you want, and you can also select up to two substats for it. You can also reroll several level 20 artifacts.
3. Resin spending is more flexible and faster. Instead of only using the old Condensed Resin system, you can now either spend 40 Resin in a domain to claim double rewards, or craft the new Condensed Resin with 60 Resin and use it to claim triple rewards.
4. There are some improvements for both character and weapon banners. Simply put, your character guarantee changes from 50/50 to roughly 55/45, and the weapon banner fate points were reduced from 2 to 1, so the worst situation here is losing once instead of twice.
There are also some noteworthy rewards:
1. A yearly standard 5 star selector. You’ll now receive one standard five star character selector each year.
2. Free constellations for older characters. Each year, you can get up to four free constellations for most “old” characters you already own—roughly those released from Version 1.0 to 3.8 for now. You can claim one by finish the daily (i.e. spend 120 resin and claim daily rewards) for 40 days. If you return now, you can claim up to two constellations until the 7.0 patch, where they will probably add more characters to this reward pool.
1. It's like 5 minutes a day, tops. If this helps, good for you, but it's hardly worldchanging
2. You just have to hope that the 3rd and 4th stats roll your way, the stat upgrade distribution goes your way, and, oh, right, you still need another 18 artefacts to outfit a team.
3. Another 5 minutes. It's something I guess? Not sure why Mihoyo couldn't just let me clear the domain once, and use as much resin as I want in one go.
4. 5% increase in character rates, and the banner people recommend not pulling on is better. Wow.
Also note that all 4 of these QoL are just tweaks to make mechanics that were designed to suck, suck marginally less. It's not like Mihoyo wasn't aware that not everyone wants to or can play every day, or that people hate having to grind months for good artefacts, but they built the systems like that anyways.
And the new rewards aren't especially noteworthy either
1. It's a free *standard* 5\* selector.
2. It's free constellations for old *power crept* characters. Mihoyo specifically went through the list and removed every character that's still relevant. Free Yelan constellation? No can do.
So can i get cons for my characters i mentioned and did they got powercrept badly or still able to clear current end game contents?
You were around for Dehya, looks like. As the old joke goes: What's Dehya's best team? A: Nahida, XQ, Shinobu, and never swap to Dehya.
Most of your old characters are in a similar situation. You can certainly clear endgame with them on the team, but it'll be the shiny new power creep supports doing the heavy lifting. Your characters are so out of date, the characters that power crept them got power crept. Ganyu was already power crept in raw DPS by Ayaka, who's recently been power crept by Skirk. Arlecchino replaced Hutao, and got replaced by Mavuika. Itto got replaced by Navia, who's about to be replaced by Zibai.
Even Abyss these days can be pretty heavy handed with gimmick gating, i.e., there's a new type of enemy, where, if you don't have Nod Krai characters, the effective HP of the mob more than doubles. In IT, old characters will be leaning pretty heavily on the buffs to be relevant, and SO is the new P2W mode. The primos are all available at the lower difficulties (because it replaces one of the 420primo events), but the highest levels basically ask for multiple limited 5\*s with constellations and signatures.
As for getting constellations, your characters fall into 3 rough groups:
The best group: The constellation gives some QoL, but it's not going to save them. That's mostly Hutao, maybe Ganyu, but she's borderline in the next group.
Group 2: The constellation is borderline useless. That's Xiao, Childe, Itto, and Mona.
Which brings up to.... group 3. Zhongli and Kazuha. This group is: Lmfao, they're still good, so you can't get their constellations from this *generous* giveaway. On the plus side, they *are* still good. Kazuha more than Zhongli. By a large margin.
As for cons I'll spend them on Ho Tao and Xiao ig
