How to find the spark again

Guys… how in the world do I find the enthusiasm to play this game again.

Short context, I’m a day one player who used to OVERLY play the hell out of Genshin to the point i don’t even want to add up all the hours I’ve got on it… and I was playing almost if not everyday from around release till sumeru. And I’ve played here and there occasionally since then but never anything longer than like 3 days out of every 6 months.

Seeing all the new characters and actual lore that I honestly thought would never actually make it to the game finally well. Be in the game. Makes me want to come back so badly but like it feels so, idk; Boring? Lifeless? Nowadays…

Said all that bs to say. Anyone got advice for getting back into the game? Just go try to explore the regions again? Try building up my units to new standards?

Or is it time to admit that I’m just unc now and need to hang it up and sell the acc💔

I have almost 1,500 hours. I started in 1.1 and I have never felt the need to quit. There were periods with content drought or content I didn't like but those were opportunities for me to play other games. I like having comfort games and Genshin is one of them. Given the nature of the game, you could come back later, take a break. However, if after one, two or three breaks, you still find yourself unable to accept what the game should be or has become for you, then I recommend quitting permanently. It's just a game, it should be fun and the feelings you have towards it are not healthy especially when you could be doing something better.

I had to quit for 3 years to regain my spark randomly after pulling flins lol. Then I saw neuvilette & fell in love so I started grinding for hours a day exploring regions for primos, and now I’m just hooked again. Is there an upcoming character you like?

Take a break.

Last year when I re-started in december, I came back after 3 years. Did Liyue and Inazuma Archon quests in like 3-4 months and started Enkanomiya and again took a break in April/May.

I just downloaded the game today again and completed Enkaniomiya main quest. I am not sure how long will I play for this time around as I have to level up my characters a lot for Sumeru and beyond (I am in AR 45 and only traveller is level 80)
