yeah i agree it is a bad way ,

but given that characters are Hoyo product is harder to post-edit without making some players mad , remember that some players spend plenty of money on some characters(C6) and while an upgrade (like face/hari) could be good , not all players could think the same way,some could think Hoyo 'ruined' the character they paid for,

so Hoyo best choice is leave the original as it is and upgrade it through skin.

I think a good middle ground would be what they did with the Jean, Amber, Mona, and Rosaria outfit changes. Send out a skin with the visual updates, but still be able to equip the original one for those who want to keep it.

That way players who want the base outfit but updated can have it, and those who prefer the original lose nothing :D

Unfortunately I don't have hope anymore... They clearly release skins for characters owned by a lot of players, so that a lot of these players can buy the skin. Sadly I don't think Albedo's popularity is comparable to Nevillette, Yelan or Ayaka back in the days...

the main problem with him is the eyes, but skins haven't ever touched the actual facial proportions, for example look at bennett, he still has that same face model

They really need to go back and update old models without waiting for a skin. Especially if they're gonna keep putting those old models next to the newer ones during AQs.
