seeing how all the things are happening until now, they will never update any model nor change any kit, buff or debuff. every change will come in form of an event, instead of admitting it is bad rn, they will put the generous mask and say "look, it works this way but here's an event that changes some things on this character" or straight up sell a new weapon.

The Traveler gets featured in pre-rendered cutscenes. That would require doing them twice (or 4 times since they already do it twice).
For the in-game engine ones, they'll use your active appearance, but for cutscenes like the most recent Dain quest one with the twins, they'd have to have one for each outfit.
