New to the game (surprisingly in 2026). What would you guys recommend? What should I do?

Don't try to min/max too much in the early game. For example, artifact farming only really starts unlocking at adventure rank 45.
As for tips:
Occasionally, even some low level 3* weapons can be unexpectedly useful even in the late game. You can fodder most of them, but it's a good idea to keep a refined copy around just in case. Even if you don't end up using them, it's nice to have for collection/lore.

At the moment you don't have enough characters to make a really good team. But at the same time, you aren't going to encounter anything that *needs* a really good team for a while.
Just enjoy the game and worry about getting gud later.

I was just wondering if I could have any hints whatsoever of banner pulling. Is the current banner good for newbies? Is it a primogem trap for the new character release? I've played other gachas before so the devs placing a banner trap before an important one is usually how it goes.

Xilonen has great mobility, best for exploring for example. I thought it would be a great unit to explore. I'm only 3 days in, and I've already explored 100% of 3 zones. That's basically it. I'd pull for xilonen if she's also a good unit further than exploring purposes.

out of the characters you have , fischl and sucrose are only meta relevant ones , focus on them

You're very early in the game. You need more good characters to play meta. I suggest using the team above and try to figure out what kind of style you want to play first. There are many meta style in the game and some of them might not be your cup of tea.

Pull for varesa, she have great exploration skill and being an great and cheap dps.
Pull for xilonen bcz she is greatest support in the game, also having great exploration skill.
Or choose Mizuki instead if you havent pull them incase of that diluc is you losing 50/50 or normal banner bcz she also having great exploration skill.
Tried to learing about elemental reaction, saving fragile resin until ar45 and spend it in one go for your favorite dps artifact, collecting oculi to get stamina, priority explore at newer region when you strong enough bcx it give more prismo, use you daily resin the one that fill up to 200/200 to upgrade character and weapon, tried to get an good 4* weap earlier while pulling also an good thing.
there is already 3 teleportation already unlock at other region Nodkrai, Fontaine, Natlan for you when you finish Monstad interludes archon quest, go there if you like explore more.
