This has nothing to do with OLED?
No one can turn off their UID. It's always shown. It just is what it is. No idea what you're complaining about.

He means since it is static and can't be turned off it will cause burn-in.
HuTaosTwinTails2026-01-02 18:33
No it won't. Burn in is so exaggerated. He isn't leaving genshin and it on the screen for 100 hours straight.

I am just saying what he means. Yes it won't cause burn-in if his monitor is half-decent.
There are many safety measures implemented in new monitors to avoid it.

It will on older models. Mine has imprinted the UID and there's no way to remove it. I played 1-2 hours a day, nothing excessive, but it happened (and my Oled TV model was a flagship at the time). 😔

You mean that after few hours UID may be burned on monitor because it's always here?
Toutanus2026-01-02 18:24
Yes

Nobody can turn that thing off though

Most new OLED screens have anti burn in tech so not issue like first generation OLED screens

i've been using OLED for years. I don't have any burn in from it. You're just being paranoid.

I believe NVIDIA has an overscan fearure, so you can cut the margins off, then reposition the HUD in-game.
