Is the Fatui still concidered a threat?
We were on friendly terms with about half of them now, they helped us in Nod-Krai, a third of them are not in the picture anymore, and Dottore is said to have gone rogue and acts on his own terms. Simply the closer we are to Snezhnaya, the less they seem like they're the enemy.

Honestly if we’re gonna get conspiratorial, part of me wonders if the harbingers being friends with the traveler isn’t something they initially planned. Like, Childe was set up as the rival character, not so much a ‘friend’ initially. And Signora and scaramouche were supposed to feel like legitimate threats. Hell, for wanderer to be playable he had to retcon himself into never being a harbinger.
But part of me wonders if Arle wasn’t originally going to be playable, but everyone liked the harbingers so much their plans changed. So now they have to trip over themselves to make the fatui potential threats but also potential allies.
Arlecchino is a ruthless diplomat who also runs shadow operations with an army of child soldiers. BUT outside of using them as…you know…child soldiers…she treats them like her real children…despite the fact she can’t really be that much older than some of them.
Sandrone is a cold and calculating engineer, who threatens us as soon as we arrive in nod krai…but she’s really just a tsundere, and misses her friends.
I think the more likely explanation is that they’re trying to make the fatui seem morally grey, but it’s kind of a weird way to go about it.
