Just getting thoughts but if I understand it correctly, would this new event weapon work on someone like fischl? Or is stringless still better?

yeah it looks good. stringless is probably better in an aggravate team
jonthadontv2026-01-02 21:44
That makes sense. I figured it would depend on the team and situation.
SemioticTheory2026-01-02 21:39
When I tested it out R5 Stringless was still better, but I'm not sure about lower refinements.
jonthadontv2026-01-02 21:43
I figured it may be a more situational type of thing but thanks for the info! My stringless right now is R2 but are we able to get anymore copies of this event weapon?
ozush2026-01-03 15:32
For event weapons you get special refinement materials instead of weapon copies. If you completed the event, you should have them, just go to the refinement tab, press add materials and if you have them they will be automatically picked up from your inventory. If you don't have the materials, I think you should still have a day or two to complete the event (it's the one with Varesa and Xilonen, not Saurians), but after the event ends it will be impossible to get.

How did you test that?

> Pick Fischl
> Put on Stringless
> Use Oz on neutral enemy like Masanori
> Swap off an record damage
> TP away and change bow to this one
> Use Oz on Masanori again
> Swap off and record damage
Like buddy it’s not hard
babangelsin2026-01-02 23:20
Yeah it is not hard when you don't know how weapon comparisons work I guess
You are supposed to be testing it out with a standardized team & rotation, and optimizing your stats based on the weapon.
With your logic the entire weapon rankings of every single unit will be wildly different.
Don't get me wrong, R5 Stringless is way better than this weapon. But when I see the word "When I tested it" it always raises an eyebrow and rightly so.

They wanted to know, straight up, if Stringless or this bow would deal more damage on Fischl, you don’t need to spend 3 months writing a thesis paper detailing the scientific process you used to calculate its damage difference in every scenario if you just want this specific one. YouTubers like IWinToLose do this because this data is going out to a significant audience, with some wanting details, if you’re literally just doing it for yourself then you don’t care about specifics like what percentage damage increase does Stringless have over this
And if you did do it like you suggested, then you’d quickly realise that it doesn’t matter at all because Oz Snapshots, and this buff only applies after an attack happens while the character is off field, meaning whatever potential minute damage buffs you might get from this compared to Stringless is snuffed by the incredibly annoying sequence of “Swap Fischl on, Skill, Swap off, wait for an attack, Swap back on, wait for an attack, swap off”. There isn’t a damage buff in the world that would make me swap on, off, on and off again

> you don’t need to spend 3 months writing a thesis paper detailing the scientific process
Yes, you don't, because we already know that R5 Stringless is better than Amos, a bow with more Base ATK and an unconditional ATK% substat.
If you don't want to go through the correct process, just look things up.
ConciseSpy850672026-01-02 23:32
“If you’re not gonna test it properly then don’t do it at all”
babangelsin2026-01-02 23:35
Yep, you got it exactly right
SemioticTheory2026-01-03 00:47
Nothing terribly rigorous, though as u/Joe_from_ungvar mentions the trick is you have to switch back in and refresh Oz in order to snapshot the ATK buff. The post-buff Oz damage from Rainbow Serpent was very slightly higher than R5 Stringless, but it wasn't enough to overcome the better damage on the initial skill cast + first skill shot from Stringless.
I played a little with Aggravate as well, swapping ATK sands for EM sands when using Rainbow Serpent, but Stringless still came out ahead.
MofoPro2026-01-02 21:41
Yes it would , from my personal experience Stringless is still better with the same build
Joe_from_ungvar2026-01-02 21:47
Oz snapshots onfield, this triggers only off field
youd need to do a bit of annoying swaping
switch out, let Oz hit once, bring Fischl in, move Oz to snapshot the new atk buff, now you have the atk buff
as long as you dont take too long refreshing Oz
Medyanka2026-01-02 21:56
I would rather not use it on fischl. The reason is simple, fischl's Oz snapshots stats. In short, it takes your stats at the moment of summon, and keep them that way the entire duration (regardless whether you lost or gained any buffs after the summon).
So, when fischl summons oz, she doesn't have atk buff yet (since she didn't attack from the off-field), so oz summoned without it and will be that way until the next summon. You can swap her off and swap to her again to resummon him with a buff, but that's valuable seconds in your rotation.
I guess for the rest of your battle it's active, if you won't make too huge mistake and leave oz without a target to hit for 8 seconds (lets say, 4 seconds of enemy leaving his range, and another 4 seconds of absense of oz on the field). But being so clunky right at the very start already made me disliking that option.
Akomatai2026-01-02 22:05
Fischl typically has low ER reqs and she's not getting the passive on first cast. Not a good weapon for fischl imo
PolskiStalker2026-01-02 22:06
Song of Stillness is better in Chevy teams, Stringless is better in Aggravate
NoFaithlessness95692026-01-02 22:39
you have to do e then swap and then recast oz with her burst to get the buff
lostn2026-01-02 22:58
it's ok. Oz will snapshot his stats so for the first summoning of him, he won't get the ATK buff.
I'm not 100% sure if Oz's attacks are considered off field since technically he is on field. I presume that if Fischl is off field then Oz's attacks are considered off field.
jonnevituwu2026-01-02 22:58
Yes but kinda annoying yet possible to min max
Oz is op as hell so everytime you either spawn him or swap his position, bro can snapshot the buffs so you have to hit once with him while Fischl is off field then swap back to her and swap his position again just to get the buff
babangelsin2026-01-02 23:06
She rarely needs more than 10% ER so just compare the Base ATK and the passive ATK% bonus (which you need to jump hoops to actually utilize)
It is simply worse than the craftable Chain Breaker / SoS, Alley Hunter, Stringless.
ozush2026-01-03 15:28
You can activate the bow's passive on ANY character: make sure there is at least a bit of distance between you and the enemy, press normal attack, then IMMEDIATELY switch to another character. The point is, you send the bow-user to off-field before the arrow hits. Hence, the normal attack registers as a hit from off-field and activates the passive. After that, in case you are using Fischl, you have 8 seconds to swap back to her and snapshot the buff.
