It just isn’t enough 🥲. I wish Miliastra Wonderland had a second half that featured a select flagship event each season, allowing players to experience/re-experience past events and earn their lucrative rewards
Apart from the initial introduction with Octavia, Wonderland feels so out of place in Genshin since the content doesn’t provide any substantial main game rewards or further tie ins that make it’s consistent presence within the main game worth it (to me, imo). At best we got some primos with the web event.
I understand why it’s not a separate launcher given the shared resources. Still, even with the allowance now of Teyvat characters, they will only be within the context of certain UGC game modes/stages. But still, what purpose/connection does that serve to the main game? Sure, it can potentially open up some PvP combat and new ways to explore character/team abilities for those interested in that (I am not), but this doesn’t further the main game, and hence, to me, doesn’t really justify it’s extensive presence within the main game page.
Playing mini games, socializing, and earning currency for outfits is the crux of Wonderland, but the outfits aren’t even for the Traveler or any of the main game characters, so I’m really trying to understand what the devs were going for here. From what I’ve gathered, on the UGC developer’s end, this is similar to a past dungeon creation event, and it allows PC users a sandbox mode (mobile and console players are screwed). From the user’s end, if they’re into this Roblox/Fortnight/Mincreaft-esqu playground mode, great (and I’m not knocking anyone to be clear). That said, there are plenty of users on both ends who can’t and/or don’t want to create or engage.
I don’t want the UGC part of Wonderland to go away. I know folks are working hard developing games and making some earnings, and many are enjoying the games. Even I’ve had my fair share of fun playing some here and there. But since we’re all forced to have this as part of the game, I would love it to be more connected to the main game of Genshin/Teyvat.
As someone who started during 4.0, and caught up on all the past main and minor events over YouTube, I think it would be great if each season Wonderland released a flagship event re-run. While it’d be nice if they selected ones that are closer to the main story (imagine this patch we had a re-run of Simulanka), they can also just keep it simple and go in order.
Event rewards (primos, mora, exp books, etc.) can be the same or even reduced from what was earned during the main one, but I can’t imagine older players scoffing at gaining another limited event weapon or missed refinement materials. Even if we don’t get primos, event weapons and some resources alone would be a powerful draw for many players I think.
I’d also love if each patch released 1-2 of the smaller story events, particularly the lore heavy/playable character focused ones, and would further love being able to play some older iterations of mini games and try that old school insane delivery event I keep hearing about.
Overall, I want to experience past content for myself, and the flagship events are most certainly worth bringing back. Allowing players who joined and will continue to join later on to experience these past stories and gain prior limited items would be amazing.
I’d support a skip button here since older players who aren’t interested in the story again can speed through it, as can others who hit aren’t that vested or fee overwhelmed with stuff.
Bonus if they’d allow us to re-explore the main event areas and redo puzzles. The chests can be filled with inconsequential items (food, 1 mora, etc) just to satiate those who miss exploration. 🥹
I’d also love a proper RPG style tournament. No timers. You enter with one or two teams that you can rotate between at fixed cooldown interval and fight several rounds of increasingly tougher minor, elite, and boss enemies. Hell, throw in some local legend teams too. At the highest stage you take on a team of 2-4 trounce domain level enemies (imagine Childe, Rosalyn, Arle, and Dottore coming for ya!).
I’d also love a proper tower. Again, no timer, just waves of increasingly powerful enemies and allowing players to switch between 1-3 teams or experiment with a fifth slot character. They can add fun floor buffs like lightning or snowstorms (think wind trace white out), and co-op can be a thing for both these kind of events. Just so many options here.
Let players utilize their shielders, healers, and dodging skills to go as far as they can. Perhaps players can even bring a limited amount of food items to use throughout the battles as they see fit.
I only play Genshin, but know HSR has some feature that allows a replay of past flagship events. I think Wonderland is the perfect place for Genshin to incorporate the same.
Interested in hearing what others have to say, and what features you think would be good here.

And for your suggestion, all the MW haters would be *pissed* if they 'locked' event reruns behind playing MW. People have been asking for that for ages, and it looks like they might be making steps towards that with the Quest Archive and permanent Summer/Lantern Rite events. But trying to tie more Genshin content into MW would be a mistake I think, because eventually MW probably will grow beyond Genshin itself, maybe it will have a standalone launcher eventually. And there's a lot of people that absolutely despise MW, and 'forcing' them to engage with it will just make them even more upset.
As for your other suggestions, keep in mind MW is still in beta. Last patch, I was disappointed with the lack of customizability for enemies, now next patch they're adding more features to make that better. It's entirely possible that as it develops, we WILL get more new features, like 8P support for Genshin characters in 'Classic' mode. Otherwise, all the things you've suggested are entirely possible with MW, it's just up to creators to develop the gamemode themselves, which will just take some time. I've seen people that are re-creating all of Simulanka already, as well as several other old event gamemodes.
Now you could argue giving players MW instead of doing these things themselves is 'lazy', but at the end of the day, dev resources are limited. Rather than having a small team with screwdrivers that goes and screws everything in the world for people, they've used their small team to mass-produce screwdrivers, so everyone can get their own and screw their own stuff.
Since it’s already required by the game regarlfless of what players want, I figured a second side would satiate many of those who aren’t interest in the UGC playing and/or development aspect, but wouldn’t mind some content to gain rewards for their main game. And the best content for that, imo, would be these past flagship events and other story based ones.
That said, if Genshin will incorporate another system to allow this, I’m all for it. Wonderland just seemed like a good spot to add it since it’s already there, and seasons run for 6 weeks - plenty of time to let a flagship event and 1-2 others run their course in a focused mode, and a skip button will reduce engagement time for those who don’t care, but will still hop in for the rewards.
I know it’s still in beta and admit I don’t follow updates too closely (like I watch the version trailers but not the whole special program since I like to have some surprises).
Still, given how present it is in the main game, I just wish it were more tied to it in that sense.
But yea, at the end of the day I just want to play past events and acquire past weapons and Serenitea pot items. It made sense for Wonderland to fill this purpose given the mage nature of it, but if Hoyo is working on another avenue to this I’ll take it!
Why? Because it's an icon that shows up on the screen? Plenty of players have just ignored it, not even collected their Manekins, because they don't want to engage with MW. What exactly 'requires' them to do so?
>satiate many of those who aren’t interest in the UGC playing and/or development aspect
You ever hear the phrase “If you try to appeal to everyone, you'll appeal to no one”? Can't MW just be appealing for those that want to do UGC, and let people that don't care ignore it?
>That said, if Genshin will incorporate another system to allow this, I’m all for it.
I think pretty much everyone wants all that. Whether we get it is still up in the air, but we can hope.
Though part of Genshin's marketing with these limited events IS the FOMO aspect, so having all of them become permanent would let players be like "Ok, I'll play Genshin one month of the year, catch up on the whole nation, then drop the game until there's more to do." Which Hoyo doesn't want, because they want player retention and playtime, because the more you play, the more likely you are to eventually spend.
What you've suggested with specific reruns solves this a little bit, but still is a hit for FOMO marketing, unless they only rerun every event once, which kinda defeats the point of making them available to new players. Plus, they've said in past interviews that event weapons will never return for that reason, which they can always backtrack on but again, the fact that meta-focused people play the silly event and minigames to get a Bow that only kinda works on Ororon or Jahoda because maybe the bow will be BiS for some future unit is just proof that the FOMO marketing works.
To be clear, I'm not saying **I** **like** the FOMO marketing. It's scummy. But would you really go up to someone in public and be like "I would be happier if you gave me your money" and just expect them to do it? Some kind souls might give you a coin or two, but if it would prevent them from taking the bus or buying their morning coffee, they probably would put themselves first.
I get that it’s nice to be an older player, but when someone joins shouldn’t lock them out of so many things. And there are day 1 players who missed content due to irl stuff.
It doesn’t detract from your own account if others have things, but I get the sentiment. Everyone has their perspective. I’m more open to others getting to stuff too
But seriously, I don’t get the mindset of ‘I was here first so I should only have it’. Alas
And it shall remain as such, if the amount of crybabies that complain is pointless and should be deleted keeps rising
>I understand why it’s not a separate launcher given the shared resources.
Thats not the reason, the main reason is simply reach, you are most likely to gather Genshin players, that you are to grab players with a separate launcher
>Still, even with the allowance now of Teyvat characters, they will only be within the context of certain UGC game modes/stages. But still, what purpose/connection does that serve to the main game? Sure, it can potentially open up some PvP combat and new ways to explore character/team abilities for those interested in that (I am not), but this doesn’t further the main game, and hence, to me,
Why the fuck should it host PVP? Why the fuck should an UGC gamemode be forever tainted with PVP?
Not every game needs PVP, not every mode needs PVP, the idea of PVP should stay the fuck away from a game not designed for it
>doesn’t really justify it’s extensive presence within the main game page.
Even if it had all this, and once you did all you miss, it still wouldnt justify anything for you. You simply dislike it and thats it
>Playing mini games, socializing, and earning currency for outfits is the crux of Wonderland, but the outfits aren’t even for the Traveler or any of the main game characters, so I’m really trying to understand what the devs were going for here.
Players: Ask for UGC to make infinite content
Also players: Why did they do that
>From what I’ve gathered, on the UGC developer’s end, this is similar to a past dungeon creation event, and it allows PC users a sandbox mode (mobile and console players are screwed). And thats cool
There is something called, ignore it
And yet its a tall order to ask it seems

No it should not

While it’d be nice if they selected ones that are closer to the main story (imagine this patch we had a re-run of Simulanka), they can also just keep it simple and go in order.
You are severely understimating the work behind making events replayable in an open world, even inside Simulanka lobbies
Ah yes, 99% useless event weapons, and resources that are permanently avaliable in the game. If people didnt know the events existed in the past due to constant reminders, no one would bat an eye
>I’d also love if each patch released 1-2 of the smaller story events, particularly the lore heavy/playable character focused ones, and would further love being able to play some older iterations of mini games and try that old school insane delivery event I keep hearing about.
Which requires old map, old environments, and only usable characters released by then to avoid extreme cheesing. Once again, easier said than done
>Overall, I want to experience past content for myself, and the flagship events are most certainly worth bringing back. Allowing players who joined and will continue to join later on to experience these past stories and gain prior limited items would be amazing.
There are thousands of ways that dont involve specifically Milliastra they could do that
>I’d support a skip button here since older players who aren’t interested in the story again can speed through it, as can others who hit aren’t that vested or fee overwhelmed with stuff.
So basically speaking, all this is because of rewards. Thats it?
>Bonus if they’d allow us to re-explore the main event areas and redo puzzles. The chests can be filled with inconsequential items (food, 1 mora, etc) just to satiate those who miss exploration. 🥹
People who "miss" exploration will never be satiated, then turn around and play other games that allow them to fully skip it
>I’d also love a proper RPG style tournament.
You have simply no idea if you expect Genshin has the balance to make this happen, specially with enemies whose arenas are specifically designed in a way to be able to showcase their movements and skills properly and no one elses
So basically you want a roguelike game, but with Genshin plastered on it, why not make that the suggestion
Because its going to be frowned upon, so you chose to mask it under old event replayability, massive arena elite boss spam, and skip button as if they would hide the real wish
Like Milliastra is for people to have fun, not tryhard sweat. Thats what Dire stygian is for
>Let players utilize their shielders, healers, and dodging skills to go as far as they can. Perhaps players can even bring a limited amount of food items to use throughout the battles as they see fit.
Ah yes, the same 2 roles people consider useless, and dodging skills that many dont even use then wonder why they died. Just cause a roguelike would exists that wouldnt make those roles suddenly more relevant, they would either nuke the fuck out of most stages, or complain they cant reach whatever reward is behind completing it, case on point namecard event
>I only play Genshin, but know HSR has some feature that allows a replay of past flagship events. I think Wonderland is the perfect place for Genshin to incorporate the same.
No it is not
And SR virtually has 1 event per patch, everything else been endgame refreshes to keep people engaged with massive powercreep and ever bloated story people loudly and properly asked to skip
Its literally not comparable beyond been under the same company
Grass is greener on the other side takes are better suited for the other sub, regardless if you play or not
As I said, I don’t want the UGC content of Wonderland to disappear. I get it necessitates this but it’s a shame game creation is limited to only PC users, and of course everyone will feel differently about engaging in UGC content. This is also my first experience with that.
Because I have a couple of friends who are super into it, and again have found some games I personally enjoy, I played this mode a fair bit (level 48, spent a little here when it first came out). So again, I’m not against it or anyone who plays it.
I just figured this would be a good place to add another side of it since it’s embedded ok everyone’s devices as is. I’m no developer of course, but figured this mode would readily allow for a replay of limited events in a focused mode.
Even if there are limits to reopening maps, puzzles, and large scale exploration, and sure, we can do without the games, I think the resources are readily available to allow a focused mode of just the story alone, as the game already implements in certain quests.
I absolutely do want to replay quests, and of course want the prior weapons and items from a collectors standpoint. I don’t need event 4 star weapons to take on end game content, but would love them for my account.
Since I don’t follow all things Genshin, Wonderland having so much presence seemed like the perfect spot to add some replay value of flagship events.
As for the tournament and tower suggestion, those wouldn’t be for rewards, just purely fun. I come from purely PvE games and it’s just fun to run towers and fun tournaments seeing top characters out to get you.
Again, since I’m not a developer idk what challenges such a task would impose, but it’s more just for a fun, unique, challenging fights amongst oneself or, if you have friends, team up and have at it. No rewards, no worries, just different seasons of tournaments and towers.
In any case I do hope we get some method to replay past story events, and better yet earn past rewards, be it wonderland or otherwise.
But as I said, this wasn’t a bash Wonderland post, just my limited observations and personal opinion on what I thought could be added to satisfy another segment of the player base.
