Columbina's writing should haven another Direction.
I'm not happy with Columbina's writing, she's not well written and i'm tired of pretending she is. I mean the other Harbingers described her being creepy and even Childe doesnt want fight her. I expected Columbina being ominous, not evil but extremly dangerous. And what did we get ? Another clumsy Waifu for the Traveller. We need to talk about that. In my Opinion it took the wrong Direction and surely i'm not alone with that.

Edit: Downvotes for wanting more lmao
The "creepy" thing was a community headcanon. Just because you wanted to believe something, doesn't make it true. And it definitely doesn't make it the writers' fault.
Tartaglia says that Columbina is ranked extremely high among the Harbingers, yet he feels uneasy around her and advises us to be cautious in her presence. It makes sense that someone who is the 3rd of the Harbingers but spends all their time singing in the gardens would be a bit offputting.
Arlecchino says that her responses are inconsistent and unpredictable, often choosing whether or not to engage at all, and whose answers tend to be unusual or unexpected. This is just pure aloofness, which we clearly see reflected in the quests.
Wanderer says that she is innocent and oblivious, while remaining emotionally detached and indifferent to situations that would normally provoke concern, making interactions with her uncomfortable. This fits perfectly with the vibes we get with Columbina, especially during the first interactions.
Arle:
> She is a very special Harbinger. Pose her a question, and the answer you receive will be entirely unpredictable, if she sees fit to give a proper answer at all.
Scara:
> Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her.
Childe:
> The Fatui Harbingers are ranked by strength, and I have no idea why that girl is No. 3. I'd test my skills with every Harbinger who ranks above me if I had the chance, but when it comes to her... something just doesn't feel right. Anyway, you should be careful around her.
All these decribe Columbina when we met her perfectly. Aloof and mysterious. She was never supposed to be some eldritch horror you clowns headcanon her to be.
Arlecchino:
> She is a very special Harbinger. Pose her a question, and the answer you receive will be entirely unpredictable, if she sees fit to give a proper answer at all.
Scaramouche:
> Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her.

We get it. Your head canon was wrong and you're upset. But stop making shit up.
Weird fatuiHQ fandom : "omg biblicaly correct angel omg she is sooo creepy"
And Zibai has been in the game's lore since 1.0. The fan animation was just based on the book.
Way to dodge the question though. I already see you're a hypocrite though. You point out others can't handle different opinions while saying it's bullshit and Columbina deserves better when people are disagreeing with you.
You are entitled to your opinion. You'll notice I didn't even disagree with it. I just disagreed with how you reached it because the argument you provided in that instance is a poor argument. I do disagree though. I thoroughly enjoy what they have done with Columbina. I especially like the part where it was written she abandoned the Frostmoon Scions because she felt the relationship became transactional. That isn't a direction many gods are taken.
A god actually coming to that conclusion and deciding it isn't for her is highly entertaining. The fact that we then have Dottore striving to become a god is a fantastic foil. I'm not saying it's super amazing nor groundbreaking writing, but I enjoy balanced approaches to writing. You apparently don't. That's fine. The difference here is that you made a post about people disagreeing with you and started saying they can't handle differing opinions all while proving you can't handle them yourself.
Before you respond something like, "It's not that deep, bro," again recall that you're the one that decided differing opinions were worthy of a post. I'm just responding to it.
"I wanted a family so I joined an organization of evil that has been acting very aggressive towards the village I belonged to. Oh no! Big surprise! They were evil!"
The writer didn't even try.
Childe only questions her ranking. Wanderer says she's oblivious and innocent, and Arlecchino says she's interesting.
All those "creepy" stuff are purely fandom headcanon.
What Genshin has always been good at was making larger than life characters feel human. I'm always surprised at the emotional depth they are able to explore.
For one I was pleasantly surprised how they were able to take the Damselette's "damsel in distress" archetype and give it depth by exploring it from another angle.
I think giving her an arc all about learning how to accept help from others and reframing much of the narrative from her perspective was such a unique way to make use of the "damsel" trope without robbing her of depth or agency. She even has nuanced relationships with many characters beyond the traveller.
She's not just a passive character. Her decision to go through the moon gate at the end of Act VI was so emotionally charged and was such a proactive move. Going into Luna IV it feels like she's going through her own hero's journey.
And I love that Genshin's writing was able to do that with a character that started off as just 'mysterious and creepy'.
