If Yoko Taro directed genshin impact, how do you think the story would go?
I recently completed the prolonged in mondstadt, after fighting Dvalin the wind dragon. When the Traveller returned, it turns out the hillichurls almost attacked the town but thanks to amber, disaster was averted, now imagine if the story took a dark turn and when Traveller and her team returned, all they saw was despair, death, and destruction when they came back. Like in the Drakengard or Nier games?

The depression of the Archon war would be a main focus, like instead of just learning about Havria it would be a 2 act quest where we see her desperation and retreats and the buildup to where her own followers slay her.
Jeht little genocide wouldn't be just a side quest it would have been what the entire Sumeru main quest theme would be.
We would have an entire chapter dedicated to Deshret, the enslavement and mutilation of the Jinn. Liloupar entire plot to destroy the desert kingdoms would be completely shown, to drown players in all that misery.
Enkonomiya would have been about the misery of how the corrupt officials instate child rulers so that they can control them and kill them once they are of age, also would have had a whole plot line of where they imprisoned the creator of the artificial sun on top of his own creation.
Overall it would be pretty dark and gloomy and honestly for a game I play regularly I prefer it to be bright and positive, if all those things were the main focus of the plot I would have checked out years ago.
Similar to how I need like a 1-2 month break after watching or playing a very emotional and dark game or anime.
I want the guy who wrote Mass Effect 1's codex to pick up the torch and rewrite the entire post Mondstadt story.
- We have to kill Paimon at the end of the story
- Emil shop roaming the land!
