Every single Electro character has a uniquely different shade of purple, not just those two. Which, to the OP's immeasurable disappointment, tells us one thing; the devs don't want to step out of this thin colour band.

From pink (Varesa, Miko) to bluе -ish (Flins, Clorinde) and purple shades in-between. A drastically different color would mess with the color coding of elements. Like yellow visuals would look like geo unless Hoyo makes it very unique. People believed Nicole is geo for a long time because of golden wings in the teaser. In the end Hoyo changed it to a more orangish color.
I'm all for different colors, especially considering we have a yellow electro slime, but I'm not sure Hoyo will go for it

No, because in genshin electro is purple. Some additional color aftereffects would be nice, but changing the whole color would just mess with the visual clarity.

Electro isn't actually lightning in the same way that Hydro isn't actually water (it's said that drinking Hydro slimes don't actually refresh you). And Electro is purple, so I don't think it should stray from that
