I know, right? You open any form of social media and it spits an unsolicited accurate leak in your face before you could even react. And usually it's from users/channels you have never interacted with before.
New weekly bosses, skins, upcoming characters and area expansions are very rarely surprises for me during official reveals because 99% of the times they are long spoiled unfortunately. It was even a wonder for me that somehow I didn't see anything about Yaoyao's skin which managed to surprise me

So based on the recent Genshin Fes interviews, the usual updates for Genshin is started by MHY around 6-8 months in advance, and the major ones nearly a year and a half in advance.
This had been proven to be true given that we actually got a rough sketch of the Fontaine Ship elevator more than a year before its release (and the designs for Yilong Wharf around a year before its introduction).

HoYo is probably working at least a year ahead of release. It's a company of hundreds and almost impossible to police all leaks. The official subs are usually pretty good at removing leaks and spoiler content. That said, HoYo, like many other companies, float potential ideas as "leaks" to gain consumer feedback without tipping their hand.

I'm tired of opening youtube and be presented with a video on the homepage with a thumbnail showing a new character's design, weekly boss, new area expansions and other new stuff, ALL THAT FROM A CHANNEL I HAVE NEVER INTERACTED WITH BEFORE!

It's the Internet buddy, once you've interacted with a specific community you're bound to get leaks shown at you. It's no different from movie or show fans getting spoiled from opening any of their social media. good thing genshin leaks cam be beneficial as the other commenter said, and character design leaks makes me more hype if it's a cool design, however story leaks are what ruins it for me.
