This is headcanon. Venti never says she's salty. She's a martial artist and likes sparring in general, so of course she would like to spar with traveler. She expresses the same desire for Mavuika, for example.
Second story quest basically confirms she was massively holding back even against 100 vision traveler, by the way. When motivated, she fights for 500 years against her equal with no rest at all. It's a stamina feat unlike any other we've seen in Genshin, and practically confirms that Ei was just going through the motions during the second part of the traveler vs ei duel (she was never going to kill Yae's friend right in front of her, let's be real for one second here.)
Traveler was not stronger than her in Inazuma, he still isn't stronger than her now, and probably won't be stronger than her until Genshin's super endgame.
Every single traveler and ei combat interaction after the AQ has Ei acting as the traveler's protector. Traveler didn't use 'ambitions' to beat Gosoythoth. They used power gained from their Ancient Name, a whole other type of power which has nothing to do with Visions. And let's not forget that Mavuika was right there next to them and did most of the heavy lifting.

Ancient name doesn't grant any sort of power, it has been said like 100 times in archon quest. Ancient name is simply contains memories and wishes and acts a token that helps you to be recognised in sea of souls and fished out after you died.
The battle literally goes out of their way to show you that only the attacks that's are channeled by traveller's ancient name were able to hurt gosoythoth but I guess we ignore all that to fit the narrative.
There is a whole phase of fight where gosoythoth becomes invincible and lord of night summons tribal wayobs from which which traveller channeled the hopes of different tribes through his ancient name. Where once he purified the totems the memories of the message that his friends left him flows into his mind along with hopes of people which he channels to deal devastating blow to gosoythoth.
No need to mention mavuika was gone more then half of the fight where she was transported into ancient temple and traveller alone was fighting gosoythoth.
Mavuika did the heavy lifting guys don't even pay attention to what's happening on screen smh.
She was gone for half of the fight when gosoythoth sent her to ancient temple.
Gosoythoth's invulnerable phase where traveler's abilities to resonate with hopes of people carried the battle.

I guess I have to make it more clear.
Traveler doesn't really try to find creative ways to get stronger:
\- No experimenting with Visions, like figuring how to temporarily align with them to use their power. Fight with Ei shows it is somehow possible. If there's someone to find a way to do it, then it's him (or Doctor and Witches). He "tried" it once with Kazuha's friend one, but never made actual attempts;
\- Never tried with Delusions;
\- No intent to use Abyssal power;
\- Stick with Dull Sword most of the time (so far).
He does practice and spar with others, like Kazuha, but there's nothing creative (Skirk finally changed that).
What I meant is - if Traveler took development more seriously, things would go more smoothly.

Miko isn't the ultimate card you think she is. Yes she is cunning but she doesn't control Ei or shogun. Infact she is always unsuccessful in stopping ei from making dumb decisions. Traveller always had to step in to make ei understand things. Her both story quests are prime example of how miko didn't take ei's condition seriously which led to bad circumstances and traveller had to step in to help.
Traveller is always wary of every god or higher being. That's not a point.
There is a voice line where ei imitates shogun to ask traveller for spar but traveller recognises right away and Ei gets embarassed.
Venti also has a voice like about ei being salty about loss and will hound traveller for a rematch.

Someone had to have told him he could do it. Even if you‘re inherently good at something, if you aren’t told you can do it, you might spend a lifetime without knowing.

Second story quest basically confirms she was massively holding back even against 100 vision traveler, by the way. When motivated, she fights for 500 years against her equal with no rest at all. It's a stamina feat unlike any other we've seen in Genshin, and practically confirms that Ei was just going through the motions during the second part of the traveler vs ei duel (she was never going to kill Yae's friend right in front of her, let's be real for one second here.)
Traveler was not stronger than her in Inazuma, he still isn't stronger than her now, and probably won't be stronger than her until Genshin's super endgame.
