After 5 years of Genshin, has your favourite playstyle changed?
It can be anything. From reaction based, kit based or even something random like 4 DPS characters in a team or DpS supports.
Elemental skills that auto attack like Furina's and Escoffier's and deal coordinated attacks like Ei and Dehya's has been the boon of my playtime on this game. The schadenfreude and dopamine i receive just watching my deployed soldiers do their jobs is higher than Pierro looking at Celestia. The AFK playstyle lets me focus properly on dodging and refreshing skills no matter the enemy or content. IT is an exception, but I'd rather not button mash on a good day if it means auto attack skills exist.

For example, Melt Gaming gets the highest numbers (Citlali / Xianyun / Bennett) but missing a melt means losing A LOT of DMG. I'd much rather play overvape with Xianyun, Ineffa and Furina instead. His DMG is still decent with around 200k plunges but Furina and Ineffa are also providing a lot, especially with Xianyun on VV to shred both Hydro and Electro RES.
I'm also big skill issue so I try to avoid characters who need specific combos or animation cancels as I am just not good enough to pull that off. I love Mualani and Kinich as characters but Mualani makes me want to rip my hair out at times when she misses and I know I'm not getting the most out of my Kinich by often failing to get the 5 cannon shots.
The ones not friendship max get the most attention as always, then follow by changing out team members depending on situation or feels.
In essence, I've played with all characters and knows how they work and they're all built well enough to handle the overworld.
I love using normal attacks. Just being one character and using them to normal attack. Maybe throw out a big damage charge, skill, or burst.
So, I want three characters that drop *skill based* turrets, buffs, shields, heals, etc. and then I bring out the main character and hit stuff.
Heizou is the perfect character except that his numbers and element suck for this. Wriothlesly is a pretty good upgrade, but is far from meta.
I really don't like bursts, though, so I prefer them to be like extra damage or something, not a character's whole gimmick.
I play Skirk, Raiden and Arle most often.
I had no interest in dealing with Arlecchino's bond of life nonsense. Plus, even though I loved the character and personality, I ended up hating how skinny and pointy her face ended up.
Skirk also had an annoying, unappealing gimmick with the weird non energy resource she had to actively collect.
And Flins...I should have gotten him. His terrible hair bothered me and I was really excited for Nefer. I saw she kicked and hoped she'd play like the other melee catalysts and .... Nope. She's my strongest character, but isn't especially fun. I will probably get Flins on rerun.
Nowadays is more like skirk go brr and Venti go pew pew
But then again, back in 3.x I enjoyed hyperbloom and nilou teams... Man I wish we get sumeru buffs soonTM
Sadly no matter how many premium supports he just fell off so hard and I ain’t playing plunge Diluc because gross.
I like quick swap gameplay that mostly focuses on heavy dmg with skills instead of burst. I have a c2 Navia and Albedo c2. Paired with the right characters there is enough crystals to get her to high dmg without Benny boy. And I can keep going in circles without a burst animation in between. I’m working on a Flins team that can do the same.
Characters who I have to set up, or use special gimmicks don’t give me quick swap rush I want to feel. And I’ve been craving this type game play since I started.
