One year (and 2 weeks) in Teyvat

Apologies for the backstory and if this is the wrong flair.

I started playing this game on xbox in December 2024 and this game has been a blast. It filled a void after Destiny 2: Final Shape concluded my time with that game. I am poised to start Sumeru after I finish the underground in Inazuma, which should be soon. I stayed at world level 6 for a long time and only recently made the jump to 7.

Mavuika was the first banner I wished on and won the 50/50. She has been a staple in my line up ever since. It felt weird jumping all the way to Natlan to get materials but it all worked out. Below is my current roster, constellations, and teams. They are roughly ordered by level too, besides Traveler. I like to theory craft and decided to make teams for most reactions. The names in red are currently not on my roster. I don't like to duplicate characters outside the members of the vaporize team, and then only once. My next pulls are Ineffa, Neuvilette, Nicole, and Chasca. I never pull for weapons.

Main question is how are my teams and character selection looking? Vaporize, Melt, Crystalize, and Burn are all level 80 and X/6/6 on talents. Bloom and Aggr/Spread are close behind. EC/Swirl and Hyberbloom are still in theory world. I want to push into 6 acts on Imaginarium and go above the second level in Stygian. I prefer horizontal investment over vertical. The biggest limiting factor is access to trounce domains for talent materials as a lot of my characters are Natlan, Fontaine, or Nod Krai.

I started playing about a year ago too. My first banner was Mavuika and Citlali. Didn't know how it worked so i started just randomly throwing pulls and got both of them

What are the odds?

I had none left over after I got Mavuika. I spent for the 30 wish bundle to get her haha. i had to wait for Citlali rerun to get her.

Why use both Rosaria and Citlali in the melt? You could just use same team as in vape but replace Furina with Citlali.

Citlali and Xilonen both have cinder city artifacts and I don't think they stack. I would need to change Xilonen's set to petra and back whenever I field Navia's team.

The cinder city don't stack, so Xilonen on Petra would be better, but I would think that even if you keep Xilonen on cinder city she would still be better than Rosaria.

Iansan would be most likely a better choice too.

What set does even Rosaria have that you are crossing out Xilonen because she would have duplicate set with Citlali?

I'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary(January 6th).

As for the teams I have a few questions:

1. Any reason you are not using Mavuika's premium team(Mavuika, Citlali, Xilonen, Bennet) for Melt?.

2. What artifact set-up are you running for your Navia Crystallize(Navia, Furina, Xilonen, Xingqiu) team?.

3. What's the artifact set-up for the Spread Tighnari(Tighnari, Fischl, Beidou, Yao Yao) team?.

1. Artifact sets. Since loadouts don't exist I would have to switch Xilonen off cinder city but then put them back on to run the crystalize team.

As for the Mavuika premium team issue you could run Xilonen with Cinder City and then swap Citlali to Tenacity of the Millileth for a extra attack buff and a stronger shield as well.

This is the set-up I'm working on as I saw somebody mention this and imo it looks very decent(Haven't tried the team yet as I'm still working on the artifacts)

The bigger limiting factor is you only have so much resin you can spend per day, which is opposite to Destiny where you can run content over and over until rng delivers. So for Genshin Impact, any bad use of resources can't be made up for by simply investing more time, ultimately how well you use this limited resource will determine how fast you can see improvements in endgame performance.

That being said, while its great you have theorized teams for each reaction, I think this comes with the caveat that you have already committed yourself to perhaps building too many characters/teams at once and also building characters that by todays standards are bad metawise and won't help you much in endgame.

To make better use of resin I would encourage only building 2-3 teams (ideally with limited overlap in wanting to use the same characters) and also building up characters that have been released more recently as they tend to be more meta relevant (there are notable exceptions to this - bennett, fischl, sucrose, xingqiu, xiangling and im not sure where recently buffed hexenzirkel characters like venti/razor stand as i've been on vacation and am a bit out of the loop)

Here are some recommendations for your most invested teams:

Melt: Mavuika Citlali Xilonen Bennett

Even if Citlali/Xilonen both have cindercity, xilonen is a better support with res shred and fast fighting spirit generation for Mav. This team also has a higher dps ceiling than the vape team.

Crystallize: Navia Furina/Mav Xilonen Bennett

This is the best comp for Navia, though obviously not ideal for Spiral Abyss/Stygian since it overlaps alot with the melt team listed above and other teams.

Burn: Kinich Emilie Mavuika Dehya

Again, better team on paper, Mav obviously trumps Thoma, but in Stygian you will want to use Mav on her own team.

Since you have Nefer, Aino and Lauma I would prioritize getting these units up to speed as they don't share characters with your other teams and should be future-proof for a while.

Thank you for the input. I’ll do some playing around with the revised melt team and Bloom is all at 70 with weapons at 60. For the teams that I have all the characters I’d say the artifacts are set they just need to be leveled, except Overload.
