What character should you get this lantern rite if you dont have some of them yet? Comprehensive guide.
Xianling not included because you get her for free anyways. The guide doesnt mention constellations, you can decide what constellation is more valuable for you on your own. Just read what it says for your characters, and decide which one you want the most for your account in particular.

But if i'm getting him randomly while pulling for Columbina, i might go for someone else or additional constellation to turn Yaoyao C4, Gaming C5 or Xingqiu C2.
\+ I'm getting pretty low on Hero Wits after my recent investments on Durin, Varesa, Iansan and a few others, so getting yet another 4\* char waiting to be leveled may not be the wisest, thx for the tip.
I would only get chongyun if you like him, otherwise eh, just build your kaeya.
Ideally i'd like very much a Skirk or Wrio rerun someday, or getting a random Charlotte or Diona who can also provides some survavibility.
Hu Tao first and Arle later made XL fairly redundant if you didn't need another pyro DPS.
So no, she is not necessary. No character is.
Anyways point is, it's all relative to the account. Personally if I had to choose I would choose XL C4 and then Lanyan C2 but if OP plays a lot of mono pyro / overload then XL C6 I'd maybe consider first. Not only is XL on the shop, Hoyoverse loves to rerun her and all 1.0 four stars in every banner they can to maximize salt... so, there's that lmao. Half joking
i play since 1.0 and starting with 1.1 when she hit fs10 i NEVER used her
shes on the level 70-80 stuck pile and i refuse to build her
i beat everything without issues since ever pretty much
Lan Yan is still one of the best shielders in the game. Especially good if you don’t have Zhongli.
If you have both Durin and Zhongli… then I guess whoever you like more. You probably won’t start using either of them due to a constellation.
I’m less knowledgeable about Lan Yan’s cons. I know Xiangling’s C4 is a major boost to her usefulness.
This is only from a meta standpoint. If someone likes Xiangling as a character and wants to use her. Go for it! There isn’t a whole lot of content in the game that encourages you to stick with the strongest units. But when you are facing really tough battles, you will likely want Durin over Xiangling. That’s all I was trying to say.
Of course both of them are still great if you don't have the 5 Stars, it's just that those four 5 Stars are very popular and universal a lot of people have them or plan on pulling for them. (Hell, we're living in times where even Yelan is getting overshadowed because of the regional gimmicks)
Her C1 improves her skill damage a bit, and 2 lets her partly restore her already great shield.
I think C4 is the big one, as her burst gives your party 60 EM for 12 seconds.
She def isn't the worst character in the game
That’s why I think she is the worst character in the game and her kit needs a complete rework.
Amber at C1 allows you to play fall damage team, though that one requires a crazy amount of skill. Her C6 also buffs atk and movement, so she isnt that bad. Also, her machine gun playstyle is good for dealing with frostnight herra, with the frequency of her burst added, she is an amazing option for vape teams with hydro main for that boss, probably even better than mavuika or xianling.
So, those characters work in both niche and general scenarios, and have their place in the meta, even. All that while xinyan is trying to be thoma and eula at the same time, and fails at both. Her kit is so ass that there is no scenario where she is the best pick
I only used her for her last assume skill and fought with her because she ended up on a team for exploring and an enemy saw us.
Shot from very far, auto lock and homing missiles, free charged attack and AOE impact. Block projectile and generate more shield, and so many shields makes your quite resilient.
I mean I also have c6 on the rest of them, but yeah.
For me right now is like this: C6 C6 C6 C6 C6 C2 C5 C4 C4
I only I didn’t build Noelle because I don’t use geo. Diona doesnt count as I didn’t build her for her shield. And I finally got Zhongli, so it will be a while before I can fully build him for emergencies.
My Lanyan and Xiangling are still C0 though :(
But I wait for 4* drops on standard or limited banners to upgrade slowly my Liyue characters.
I'm just 15 months old player and I have almost all the 4* I wanted, at least at C0.
I was just unlucky on last XQ rerun (6.1 Furina banner iirc) didn't get this last copy. He is C5 since 5.8.
Next I will Focus on Xiangling I guess but upgrading her from C0 is tough, she always reruns on banners I skip.
It's going to be Beidou.
You don't do NAs unless you use Xianyun cause you juggle, and even with Xianyun you can only weave in NAs in vape.
No mention of Fav for some supports, no mention of TTDS.
I didnt want to write a guide that basically says "Support = favonius" because whats the point? You might have a battery on your team, and some characters here have low enough energy requirement. Not everyone requires fav, and often craftable options are just better. You can have 3 supports on the team, but only one is required to have fav. When i have double fav in my team, i drown in energy, literally, i just cant stop bursting!
Same goes for TTDS, its not a good option for the support itself, you can just slap it on any catalyst user. TTDS' effect is not for the equpping character, its for your main dps. And many main dps's dont care about attack. I wanted to recommend ppl the most versatile builds that would work in any team. Priority was set on 4\* weapons and craftables. If i recommend TTDS lanyan and someone would want to use her for their neuvilette team, it wont do anything, so that is not a good general advice
Also, thats simply not true, i recommended Fav on XQ, Beidou, Chongyun and Yun Jin, thats 4 out of 6 supports, so my Fav recommendation rate is 60%. That is slightly higher than "no mention".
If you mention Fav for some supports and don't for the others, for new players it can leave an impression that said support doesn't hold Fav.
>Not everyone requires fav, and often craftable options are just better.
Fav >>> anything else on Yao Yao.
>You can have 3 supports on the team, but only one is required to have fav
More Favs in the team alleviate the ER% on the carries and supports that care about it, allowing to divert extra rolls on all of them into other stats. There's no reason to run only one Fav per team if the team cares about ER%.
>I wanted to recommend ppl the most versatile builds that would work in any team
That's why Ningguang has an EM mainstat catalyst as recommended? What she gonna do with that? Fontaine craftable exists and not mentioned
>And many main dps's dont care about attack
There's less main DPS that don't care about ATK than the ones who do. Neuvilette and Mualani are like the only ones who don't. Just mentioning that any catalyst support can hold TTDS for the main carry would be nice.
Decisions decisions...
I already have C6 of Xiangling, Xinque, Yaoyao, Yanfei, and Ningguang and I believe Chongyun
I missed out on Lyney when he came around.
Put in Durin and Fischl in there, and you have Hexerei buff on top on Chevy's, plus you are free from Bennet's circle impact that way.
But yeah I’d go for either.
Arle only reacts a portion of her damage while Gaming melts his every single hit, and melt scales really well with investment+Citlali is broken, so it's not that hard to imagine him surpassing Arle on sheet calcs.
I've got C6 Yanfei, C6 Xianling, C6 Xingqiu. I've got everyone else except Yun Jin and Xinyan at various constellations.
So when I get Yun Jin, is she any good or she's just someone to help complete my collection? My current Geo team is Noelle, Furina, Xilonen, and Gorou. I don't think she'd slot in there to replace anyone.
I run the same members on my Noelle team and swap (C6) Yun Jin in for Xilonen in two-team content where Xilonen gets pulled to my Mavuika team.
But seeing how the 4 star buff affected their c6 i'll get my yanfei to c5.
Xingqiu and xl are x6, and i don't use gaming.
1. Xingqiu is great, but no longer for his off field damage. What he excels at is Hydro application, especially at C6. This alone makes him more desirable in some comp when compared to the 5* counterpart Yelan. In most of his best teams recently he barely does any meaningful damage. And his application doesnt even have to come from normal attacking, just stay close to the enemy already applies a ton
2. In contrast to Xingqiu, Beidou is on the team purely for damage. She is never in competition with Kuki because of this fundamental difference. And a big caveat to her kit is that she heavily favors AoE contents that are groupable.
3. A little extra about Chongyun's kit that not many people notice: his ice field gives CD reduction. Iirc this is the only CD reduction in the game, and it might get some use in niche teams
