So... I just lost my 3rd 50/50 in a row. Does that mean my next 2 limited 5 stars are guaranteed?

I remember hearing something about how capturing radiance prevents you from losing more than 3 50/50s in a row. I just wanted to make sure that what I heard was true?

Yes from a "How does Capturing Radiance work" perspective, but not in This Specific Instance.

OP just lost their third 50/50 but hasn't yet pulled their guaranteed 5star. So they WILL get the next Limited they pull for.

THEN Capturing Radiance will trigger on their subsequent 5star pull, guaranteeing that one is Limited as well.

I triggered capturing radiance and got varesa at like one or two pity yesterday. Wasn’t really after her, but a pleasant surprise nevertheless.

The system is like this:

1st 50/50 Loss: 0% chance of triggering.

2nd 50/50 loss: very low, like 10%

3rd 50/50 Loss: The chance significantly increases (theorized at 50% or 75/25 total win odds).

4th 50/50 Loss: Guaranteed to trigger, ensuring you can not lose more than three 50/50s in a row.

To explain it with my history. I started in 6.0/6.1, and in 6.1 I lost my first 50/50 for Furina and then got her after the next 50/50 because of guarantee. I then also pulled Mona in the same 10 pull, meaning I lost a 50/50 again....In 6.2 I accidentally got Durin while trying for Jahoda, meaning I had my second guarantee.
Now in phase 2, I lost my 50/50 for Varesa....Meaning I now lost 3 times in a row, so my next pull was guaranteed and I got Varesa...and my next 50/50 is also the limited banner character because of capturing radiance! So I get Ineffa to 100%

If I had triggered capturing radiance before the third loss, the system resets

No, if you WIN a 50/50 (organic win, after any number between 0 to 2 loss+guaranteed occurrences), the radiance's pity resets to zero.

Since OP has lost 3 times in a row, he now has Capturing Radiance active.

As an example OP can pull for Columbina(use the guarantee) and Ineffa immediately after without any worry of 50/50 since they lost 3 times back to back and Hoyo throws them a bone. Pretty solid loss mitigation if you do get unlucky

5* in 10 pull, for example you will pull columbina and you can pull two of them or even three lmao, it’s pure luck. I got that kind of situation with kokomi and kazuha, but I got one of limited characters and dehya in 10 pull,

Yes, but if you went through a loss+guaranteed cycle three times in a row, the 5* after the guaranteed, will be triggering radiance, aka a "forced win" as a way for the game to mitigate your bad-luck streak.

So OP will have one guaranteed (for losing the last 50/50) AND radiance triggering next. Meaning 2 limited 5* "guaranteed" in a row.
