I'm sure a good number of people have a weird feeling after the soulblazers quests. It was a basic level event quest, but for some reason it felt far better than it normally would have been.

This is because instead of cranking out new NPCS that no one cares about, Hoyo is finally being smart and using previously known NPCS and playable characters to their advantage.

> We are introduced to three new NPCS at the start of the quest. However, one of them is NOT new. Arlani has been around since 1.0, and has popped up again a few times throughout the patches.

> The introductions the the events were not done by NPCS, but playable characters. It makes perfect sense for the hide and seek game to be handled by the children. Two of them were even the "vendors" to start the event.

> I know people wanted to see amber interact with Yoimiya, but it makes **way** more sense for Amber to interact with Yanfei. This is because Yanfei has a consistent relationship with Amber's bff, Eula.

> The traveler actually decided to finally use his fucking connections to his advantage, by going to Miko to grab first edition prints of the soulblazer saga.

> The playable characters sitting around are not just for show. Mika yaps quite a bit about Lohen, and I am convinced he will be playable at this point cause this is the third time we heard about him this patch. Amber even introduces a brand new name called Gretel, who is her new apprentice outrider. So basically, from two different characters, we learn of two potentially new playable characters.

> They went out of they to mention the lack of Ella Musk in the library when they went there.

> We learn that Minnie is Patton's much younger sister. This means that Nora is Minnie's Niece.

> And finally, The race was hosted by Draff, who is Diona's father

***

So basically. far less unmemorable characters and moments because it is driven by either characters we know about, characters that have connections with others we do know, and said characters have more of a purpose.

Hopefully Hoyo keeps doing this instead of churning out more generic NPCS to handle things.
