To gain something, something of equal value must be sacrificed.
Any relationship requires a sacrifice of freedom. Having a family is a HUGE sacrifice of freedom.

I think it's more meant as a 'if love is preventing you from doing something you love, it's time to get out', like when you have a partner who restricts you from hanging out with your friends because you're in a relationship. Sure, you cannot have 100% full freedom, but you cannot be too restricted in terms of freedom. Neither is healthy in a relationship.

If your partner won't allow you to do your hobbies, do you think it is healthy? Because I sure don't think so.
Also, a family is a responsibility. Not a partnership. You are inclined to sacrifice for family because it is your duty for bringing them into this world.

Yea. Loving someone is a responsibility, and a responsibility comes with restrictions. It's a matter of weighing whether it's worth it. And whether the other party also treats it with the same weight as you.
