I mean... with that team, you'll die without her, isn't it?
LarryKingthe42th2026-01-04 13:18
It is very squishy.
Medyanka2026-01-04 14:03
Rather than squishy, that team deals tons of self-damage, so you can't really survive, even if you dodge all the enemy's attacks.
Grand_Protector_Dark2026-01-04 15:31
So yes, it's very squishy
Dreaming_Ares2026-01-04 16:31
I would call it suicidal. Squishy is more like how bad you are at taking damage, these hoes straight up attack themselves and eachother. Then again, properly built Nahida and Lauma actually would be squishy in addition to suicidal..
Grand_Protector_Dark2026-01-04 16:36
A character being "squishy" just means that they die very easily due to a naturally low healthpool (or defense, but that's not so relevant in Genshin), in relation to the average incoming damage and the average healthpool "baseline"
It doesn't really make a difference if the damage comes from enemies or friendly fire.
Dreaming_Ares2026-01-04 16:41
Yeah...but other teams that can be considered squishy don't do damage to themselves and this one does, and that's what makes this team so dangerous, not just the squishiness. Like Nilou's not squishy but she's still a danger to herself. Its just not correct to say the team is known for squishiness. Its known for suicide.
Medyanka2026-01-04 16:47
It does. The difference is that damage coming from enemies is evadable, but damage from your own bloom cores is not.
If i have 1 hp hutao, i still theoretically can clear the level with perfect execution with dodges. It is ofcourse considered "squishy" situation, since it will take one hit to take me down.
Well, if i have "bountiful cores" team at 1 hp - I'll die before enemy even starts to attack me.
Is there really no difference between the two for you?
Edit: on the other hand, lets imagine the same nilou team with triple amount of hp. Now it's definitely not squishy, but it will die nonetheless.
Grand_Protector_Dark2026-01-04 16:57
>It is ofcourse considered "squishy" situation,
"Squishy" is not a situational attribute.
A character being at low health is not equivalent to a character being squishy.
The "squishyness" of a character is an attribute describing their Max-HP, not their current HP.
Outside of some very specific circumstances, Max HP is usually a static number in Combat.
>It does. The difference is that damage coming from enemies is evadable, but damage from your own bloom cores is not.
"Can you evade the damage" isn't relevant here.
In the context of Nilou bloom, a bulky character (high max hp) can take more Self-damage before it becomes a problem, while a squishy character (low max hp) can sustain way less self damage before healing becomes necessary.
Medyanka2026-01-04 17:09
You're saying a lot of controversial things, but sure - suppose that i'm agreeing with you. So why did you say in the first place, i quote:
>So yes, it's very squishy
You yourself here agreed that nilou is NOT squishy.
The problem of your argument is that you are technically correct on the "definition of squishy", while being completely wrong in your initial comment (which is the reason why argument even started).
The reality here that nilou bloom team overall isn't "squishy", but whether it's squishy or not isn't even important in the first place, because it will die nevertheless from self-damage.
So yeah, answering "this team take self damage" with "so in other words - it's squishy" is by any means WRONG.
Grand_Protector_Dark2026-01-04 17:29
>The reality here that nilou bloom team overall isn't "squishy",
Both Nahida and Lauma are squishy characters.
The Catalyst class has the lowest Max-health baseline amongst the 5 weapon types. Most of the catalyst characters tend to have low Max HP when not built for it.
That's the point here.
>but whether it's squishy or not isn't even important in the first place, because it will die nevertheless from self-damage.
Also wrong.
A team being Squishy is VERY important, because it gives you less room for error. "Just dodge the attacks" or "you can just dodge". Not always possible. You *will* take damage eventually from something.
A constant health drain from Bloom Self Damage means that you have a reduced room for error. Which stacks *on top* of using characters with an already low health pool.
> So yeah, answering "this team take self damage" with "so in other words - it's squishy" is by any means WRONG.
This isn't even the real exchange. You're acting like as if the first person was trying to refute you. They weren't. They were *adding*.
"The team takes self damage AND it is very squishy."
OneRelief7632026-01-04 20:31
"Rather than squishy its squishy"
Princess_Moe2026-01-05 08:23
Eh it's not a lot of self-damage anymore since they reduced bloom self-damage from 5% to 2% and on-field Barbara can keep herself healthy even when running em/em/hb
Medyanka2026-01-05 09:18
The point is that you still need a healer. Reducing self-damage did very good in making "not so good" healers a viable option, but you still need atleast that "not so good" healer.
Just try to go nilou bloom team without a healer in the abyss or SO, and that 2% will still demolish you.
P.S. Just to make sure that we are on the same page - my original comment that triggered a discussion was that barbara is indeed doing work in that team, and you'll die if you remove your only healer. I wasn't questioning the competency of barbara in keeping nilou bloom team alive.
The-Local-Lucario2026-01-04 14:56
I have C6 Barbara so she has saved my ass a few times in spiral abyss since Nahida is so ridiculously squishy
Bunktavious2026-01-04 20:13
I am sooo close. Just spent the 34 thingies to get her to C5 last month. I will make her work!
The_4th_Wonderland2026-01-04 15:30
barbara consolidates the healer and hydro trigger slot in this team
she should be on field most of the time and built EM/EM/Heal% or full EM
DeadMemeDatBoi2026-01-05 13:55
If she wasnt nerfed in 3.0 shed unironically be the BIS onfielder
DoctorPiranhas2026-01-04 16:15
I run EM Barbara with Etherlight Spindlelute in this exact team and she does her job well
InukoJon2026-01-04 17:09
Why Lauma looks dead inside?
sir_aphim2026-01-04 20:30
Because the post makes it seem like they aren't using Barbara. And so Lauma's probably traumatized by the number of deaths and retries needed to clear any content with that team.
Practical-Dark-99162026-01-04 21:39
Barbara's the GOAT. This is her team, and slander will not be tolerated.
vinuvinuvinuvinu2026-01-04 21:43
... And my Nefer team has barbara (because I have no healer with 3 dendro 1 hydro)
