I see the patterns, but I can't prove it yet. With GT 1030 upgraded to GTX 1050, the developer is not using their full power yet XD

I'm wondering how many PC players with their potato rigs are essentially going to be locked out of playing because they thought they'll just upgrade when they have to and now RAM sticks are like 4-10x their normal price and GPU prices will skyrocket this year according to some insider rumors

Well the new stats are still considered old for pc. Ps5 is 5 years old now with 7 year old tech. So anything produced 2019 and later is fine

Honestly alot I bet. I upgraded in august from a pretty shit 2018 laptop to a very solid 9700x & 5070ti desktop and I don't think I've ever been so glad to have been able to upgrade when I did.
I was actually motivated by the somewhat impending situation in Taiwan after seeing open source photos of china's newly constructed transport barges and I wanted to avoid any rediculous price rises if TSMC (the guys who make almost all modern chips) had issues with supply. Flash forward 2 months and it turns out I got the prices rises correct, just not the reason the why.
Between the AI datacentre build outs and the potential from the China/Taiwan situation a return to normal pricing, atleast in the next few years seems highly unlikely now. All this to say, RAM prices might be nuts but this is probably still the best time to grab an updated system because its only likely to get worse and spread to more hardware over time. mobile devices and consoles will not be spared either.

If you're on a potato rig you can pick up some DDR4 and a used GPU and still be doing fine.
