I think this cutscene is one of the best storytelling hoyo has made. No dialogue, and the scene literally is just a robot malfunctioning due to a command it does not understand. But we, the audience, are human who know the concept of death and mourning, thus we cry over this scene

I loved that quest! I felt so sorry for poor Karkata. Poor thing was trying so hard to save someone who unfortunately was already gone. I’m glad that Karkata is safe with Tighnari now.

I was diving from the transparent bridge just before this section where there was a pool beneath it. That pool is outside the domain's border so it respawns your whole team with less and less health each time... Yeah I get easily distracted.

There is a swimming pool you can jump down to that is just beneath the border of the domain so it acts like a cliff and takes some of your team's health. I was doing it quite a few times 'cause I'm easily distracted.

Karkata actually stays too in the palace. You can find him sleeping during the day inside and awake at night outside. It is one of my favorite Genshin quest easter eggs. This quest was insanely good. So glad character quests got way better after Inazuma

I did it years ago and I still think it's one of the best story quests. It's sad that some people missed Karkata did turn sentient / alive because Tighnari hid him from the Sages, who had ordered to dismantle sentient robots.
This, the Ifa event about the dead saurian and Focalors dancing are the things that have made me cry the most from this game.
