A player that needs help/advice.

Dear genshin community, I played this game since launch aka 2021, but I only played for a a while back then and stopped playing for years until now 2026. Currently I am AR 37 with these sets of characters. The thing is all my 5 stars aren't good, I made bad decisions with my primo gems and intertwined; mainly that is spending them quickly without saving them because I was impatient to get banner character but I never got them anyway. I recently got Dehya instead and I checked that she isn't that great. (Been playing for a few days now.) Currently on archon quests, interlude and chapter 2

I want to know how good or bad is my account? And if its bad, how fixable is it to the future? Also by bad, I mean in terms of being able to get good 5 star characters like Furina. I really want a high dps party like some folks on youtube but my party isn't that great, because I have qiqi, she does very little damage and people say venti had fallen off, and for the longest time I never knew qiqi isn't a good character. Also forgive me this is a stupid question and post. I just want to know how to fix this mess. Thank you.

Welcome back. Currently you're in a stage that pretty much any character won't make that big of a difference regarding team building. Focus on following main quest , choose 4 characters as your base team and don't worry too much about building them. Resources are a valuable commodity in genshin and later you gonna need LOTS so don't spend too much now. Get your AR as high as possible to get better rewards from drops and make better use of your resin. As for characters, you're sitting in a gold mine full of primogens with the amount of content and exploration you have untouched, I'm talking enough to get pretty much any character on limited banners for next few months depending on how much time you spend playing. But for now I think your better option is non ironically Venti. True, he had a huge fall until last month when old characters got a revamp with new buffs and right now he's one of (if not the) best anemo DPSes of the game. Look for info about hexerei buffs, you can make a solid team with Venti, Fischl, Sucrose and whatever character you want on 4th slot to trigger reactions. Razor also got buffed but he really shines on C6 while C0 Venti with Rusty is a viable option.

Another thing: right now Varesa and Xilonen are running, the first is the currently best electro DPS (alongside with Flins but her team is much cheaper and flexible) and with the 4 stars on the banner (Iansan and Chevreuse) you get basically her core team.

Next banner is Columbina, getting her will let you access all new lunar reactions with your old characters (dendro, electro, geo) so you may want to keep that in mind.

Thank you so much for these advice, that was very insightful!! I did not know about any of that, and the hexerei buffs. I guess I am safe to get more characters in the coming months

Bad but fortunately very fixable. My recommendation is to just play the archon quests. It doesn't require high level characters so just take your time. Then once you amassed a good amount of pulls, you can start planning your future teams.

Your account can be said as good as new since you're not really far deep into the game.

So, play the game first (do main quest, exploring, side quest etc..) and collect those primogems and free pulls laying down right there. While doing that try research for New Meta currently happening on YT or some TC forum/groups and plan accordingly for what character to pull and what team to build. Or find what character you like or what playstyle you like.

For temporary team. Current team you're using is fine and get the Hexerei buff as soon as you can unlock it. It makes Venti become main dps that you can use for now.

The rest is a waiting game for a character to rerun/release.

Your account is so clean that is easily fixable. Tbh I don't even think it needs fixing, it needs developing instead.

Ah okay thank you for letting me know that im still good and my account needs developing instead of fixing instead and your advices. I will try and get the hexerei thing now.
