Why there is no human king in Teyvat ? The King titles are given to Gods like King Deshret, Raiden Shogun, Tsaritsa. The only nation that has human king is Khaenriah and it is the only nation doesnt have gods.

Last time I checked every single pyro archon of Natlan was a human with a mortal lifespan... Also you forgot Furina and her title of Regina of All Waters.
Shahadem2026-01-04 16:05
Furina is an Oceanid.
A piece of an Oceanid is an Oceanid.
Just like a cutting of a tree is a copy of that tree.
Hakukei2026-01-04 16:24
Have you completed the fontaine questline? The whole point of the Fontaine questline is that the oceanids wanted to become human so bad that they begged Egeria to literally transmute them into humans, but Egeria wasn't the true master of the primordial sea and so her transmutation was flawed.
Focalors' explains it well. Furina for all intents and purposes is a human, that was what she was created to be, the human Focalors always wanted to be. And by the end of the archon quest all fontainians are fully human, not oceanids.
DI3S_IRAE2026-01-04 17:39
I would have just said, at the end of Fontaine quest Neuvilette granted the Oceanids the full transformation so they're free from Egeria curse and now fully humans. Before that Furina was still part Oceanid, as we can see in the trial when she puts her hand in diluted primordial water and shows symptoms.
Gabis_Lira2026-01-04 19:27
Until the completion of Fontaine's mission, Furina (like all Fontainians) was a false human who only gained her form due to Egeria's use of primordial seawater.
Focalors considered her a perfect human and who she had always wanted to be, but that wasn't yet literal.
Focalors did not create Furina. They are the same being. And Focalors simply separated from her physical body (which she gained from Egeria using primordial seawater). In other words, Furina wasn't a true human, just like the rest of the people of Fontaine, and only became so after the Neuvillette regained its full authority and altered the primordial seawater in their bodies, changing it to royal blood.
And lastly, after all these events, Furina abdicates her position. So she doesn't really count as the "human king/queen" anymore
Greedy_Fig38142026-01-04 15:58
Why have kings around when you have active Gods that can do the work better and not get tired?
Bierzgal2026-01-04 15:59
Ningguang is pretty much the queen of Liyue.
Artistic_Cable62182026-01-04 16:58
Actually no, she is not even hier than Keqing
Bierzgal2026-01-04 17:09
She is the richest person in the nation, owner of the Jade Chamber (pretty much the symbol of power in Liyue), she's responsible for lawmaking in the country and people fall over each other just to ask her *one* question. Even if the Qixing are considered equals there is no doubt who is the most important in Liyue.
BobTheGodx2026-01-04 18:42
>She is the richest person in the nation
No, she's the richest person in Teyvat
Rowlettowlett1002026-01-04 16:00
Och-Kan was a king and he was a human-dragon hybrid.
Shahadem2026-01-04 16:06
Because that's not what the story is about.
Shuriken_23932026-01-04 16:09
IIRC the desert had a few kings.
notthatjaded2026-01-04 16:10
Because when you have a god ruling you, there is no reason to have a human ruling class with a king.
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-04 16:10
King deshret was also a human last time I know he just tried to gain outer world knowledge but he was never said to be something more than human and tsaritsa is also most likely elf/human bcz her origins are also unkown aand what does even makes a human a species with 4 limbs and senses or what its just humans in rel life also had various variants but only homo sapiens survived and second king irmin u so believe to be a human is have some kind of dragon ancestory bcz every khaenriahn have dragon eyes suspected to be a dynasty made of love between dragons and human or dragons and angel in lore they are not pure humans either you just think of them as humans bcz they were early but no real human have such powers from start and last every human in teyvat was made by primordial one and shade of life so they are also kind of a project humans 2.0
Outside-Cookie43092026-01-04 16:11
About king deshret I can be wrong but it was never told who he originally was later he became god like archon like because of his knowledge of outer realms

Why would you align yourself to a human monarch in a world where gods exist and have a tendency to throw hands for half a millenia? One purple girl can stride up and delete your entire empire in an instant. Throw your lot in with another god so you have a chance.
Can you imagine going to a coronation and placing a crown on Bob's head while there is a millenias-old calamity-class divine being present?
BobTheGodx2026-01-04 18:23

Because Archons keep to themselves and almost never meddle with conflicts outside their respective nations.
lnfine2026-01-04 19:35
You kinda got it backwards.
Archons are tasked with overseeing specific parts of mankind. I think it's pretty much their contract with Celestia (see Barbatos VS Andrius shenanigans).
Ergo a part of mankind not under archon rule should not exist (not sure what kind of loophole Khaenriah was using, but Enka had to bow down to Raiden and remove Orobashi from premises in the process to be allowed on the surface).
The archon war itself seems to have been about that - determine the seven final deities tasked with overseeing mankind.
So it's less that archons don't meddle outside their respective nations, and more that the world is divided into provinces handed off to contracted governors (archons).
This is also the reason all those nation A VS nation B war talks are meaningless - all nations are effectively under single celestial government that would probably crack down on any dissent if it wasn't asleep at the wheel (and originally dissent was unlikely because i'd assume the original 7 were screened for the compliance), the archons are just hired administrators with a lot of freedom, but clear restrictions on what they are allowed to do.
I-LEWDED-MY-SISTER2026-01-04 21:03
Archons *currently* don't meddle with other nations (except for the one meddling with other nations) because bigger pp gods have already meddled and set the status quo. The pseudo relinquishing of state powers to humans in Liyue and Mondstadt are luxuries afforded by Celestia's grip on Teyvat and having chill deities. If a human bro tried to actually factually seize the crown in Pre-Traveler Inazuma they would have been Signora'd on the spot.
No genuine human (not a human granted the powers of a god) has any business on a throne in Teyvat. Unless they are essentially a Regent for a god such as Venti or Zhong.
FlameDragoon9332026-01-04 16:17
Kings do exist in Teyvat, they're just currently not in fashion. Sumeru, for example, had many kings of their (now fallen) desert civilizations.
There's also the Vinster King of Khaenriah 500 years ago, though we don't know if Khaenriah still has a king today or not (or if they even still have a civilization at all).
Adventurous_Cash_6352026-01-04 23:43
"we don't know if Khaenriah still has a king today" bro, Khaenriah doen't even exist anymore, what are you talking about?
Hojuma2026-01-04 16:31
Natlan's archons are still technically human.
Mondstadt isn't ruled by their Archon. Though I don't know if Varka or Seamus is in charge, or if there's actually a head honcho. I honestly don't know how Mondstadt works.
Liyue doesn't have a king but is basically an oligarchy with the Qixing ruling them since their archon retired.
Fontaine doesn't have an archon anymore but Neuvillete isn't exactly the one in charge either. I also wonder how their government is handled now.
Hakukei2026-01-04 17:23
With Furina stepping down, the role of the Executive branch passes on to Neuvillette especially since he now holds the hydro authority. Neuvillette being Judex makes him the highest judiciary branch authority and without the Oratrice or Furina's special veto power his judgments are uncontested. The question now is simply whether there's a separate legislative branch of fontaine's government or if Palais Mermonia also handles that. If the second case is true then Neuvillette effectively controls all 3 branches of Fontaine's government.
FatalWarrior2026-01-04 18:59
Totalitarian regime without even trying. Neuvillette is just built differently.
GrafonBorn2026-01-04 16:41
Last time when they had a kingdom with a human king, it ended with a disaster
_krays2026-01-04 16:44
Teyvat lore is weird like that. Feels intentional though, like humans ruling themselves is a big theme compared to gods controlling everything
DisulficAcid2026-01-04 16:51
No human can be a king as long as gods exist, the region without gods had a king
Ads10132026-01-04 17:34
there's no human kings cus humans generally are less powerful than gods. people generally congregate around the strongest force in the region
also since gods are generally a lot older, they have a lot more knowledge and experience and power to defend and empower their people with.
KRen_7252026-01-04 17:39
Because you can't let humans rule themselves everytime it ends badly. If you want examples
the entirety of Sumeru desert lore is a mess with human kings. Mondstadt had humans ruling.....and that was bad.
Khaenriah had human rulership and that nation was alive..... somehow.
Natlan a nation run by human tribes has history that is VERY gruesome.
Enkanomiya had human rulers.... being used like puppets......and then sacrificed in a pseudo sun furnace
Yil-dirim312026-01-05 19:28
There are human kings, but you won't find them if you don't look into the lore of each regions.
