Who was your first non-standard 5*?

I started technically way back in 2.2 when Alloy came out, but only actually started playing in 4.8 right before the Natlan cycle began. I lost my 50/50 in 4.8 so I guaranteed got Mualani. I couldn’t have been more happy about it, she’s still my favorite team and probably the reason why I have 650+ hours in Genshin today lol

Yeah, I played in 1.0 and lost to Jean on Venti banner, then came back in 4.2 when I heard how good the story was. Furina was so awesome, still one of my top three characters.

Us 1.2 Ganyu havers were on top of the world for that whole first year of Genshin. Every battle event was easy. I still have the namecard from the Vagabond Sword event. I remember the oceanid event that you could stand on the water pillar and snipe the oceanid from a distance. Also, one cycling Dvalin for the first time felt amazing with her.

Super easy and extremely fun.

I started in June and originally planned to save everything until a Venti rerun but I got to Natlan and loved Mualani so much that I added her to my list with Venti and sure enough within a week of that she was announced a rerun. Even got Mav in like 30 pulls while trying to get Xiangling cons so technically Mav ig but I wouldn’t have pulled if not for Mualani. I rocked Mualani aMC Mav and Kachina until like a month or so ago when I got Sucrose and just got Xilo recently.

She is the chosen one. I started Genshin on the Emilie banner with Mavuika and I went for Emilie but didn't have enough pulls.

I still don't like how far you have to progress in the game just to hit hard pity i was in damn Inazuma which was like a difficulty spike when everything was trying to murder you for no reason

Her trailer dropped she fought enemies with a fish I was sold then, 2 seconds after playing with her in the trial she did a burst sick animation said "ULTIMATUM PROTOCOL" and the rest is history.

Then her story quest happened and that was that she's been in every team ive used ever since. She helped me get 36 stars in the Abyss after 6 months with the character I wanted the most of out everyone before I even started Genshin. Legit only knew about 3 characters only their faces Hutao, Barbara and Kaeya beforehand from online then I saw Arlecchino... sht im playing Genshin initally only because of her.

Now I recently just started a new acc and got Prime Ordial Jade Wing Spear its like its ordained. And yes I will have 2 triple crowned Ineffas on both accounts. Heck I would pull for her when shes on every banner.

Your first 5 limited 5 star as well your first 5 star (mine being Jean the OG) is just different idc the emotional attachment is real and never goes away.

Cyno. Started on 3.4, tried to get Hu Tao and got Qiqi instead lmfao. He lookes really cool and I loved his designed. Left him to rot because, as much as I liked exploration, getting all the Scarabs needed was way too much of a hassle. Not having Baizhu has made any attempt at playing him a pain in the ass, especially when compared to other units focused on Dendro teams, mainly Sethos.

I remember when I first started playing, one of my friends half-jokingly (?) telling me to be careful as to what characters I level up or else I might regret it and have to restart the game, so out of fear I just used the free characters... Until that wasn't doing it and I had to proper level up my characters. That was during Nahida's rerun in 4.4, so when I asked my friend and he saw I had no 5-stars, he told me to pull for her, and I got her in two or three pulls hehehe

I didn't really use her though because I didn't like her gameplay at the time 💀 discovered heizou in my character archive and immediately fell in love with his gameplay, so I just used him with traveler and who knows what other characters I had at the time. First 5-star I actually used was Baizhu though after I saved for him in 4.6, and I still use him in my main rotation as my best healer (I have no other healer built lmaoo)

Xiao. Played since 1.0 (like day 3 I think), everyone kept thinking he would release the "next patch" so I saved til he released. Venti was the only skip I really regretted. By his rerun when I got him he was already falling off (cant remember if Kazuha already released before that or not). But im very happy that he is getting a resurgence with Hexerei buffs. If Varkas kit turns out how I want it, then Varka, Venti, Durin, (Nicole?) will be my favorite team in the game. I just hope Varka or Nicole have exploration mobility on par with Wanderer at least since Durin didnt get any somehow lmao.

Diluc , I was new to game and literally played without artifact just leveling upto level 60 , even normal hillicurls take a lot of time to kill , my main dps is bedou and learn to parry from it as it gives more damage for perfect parry , I love main story at that time as u have to prepare a lot of food items to win against story bosses , I still remember how difficult it was to kill childe , I first go to know about artifact when a quest gives u full purple artifact in chasm , and I pull random character who I don't even use like I pull for kiqing and use primo for blue wishes ,after watching some youtube video I come to know about banner and golden artifact and all after that ,story mode seems so easy as u never loose from story bosses which I hate story boss must be difficulty that It might take strategy and preparness before boss fight

I had no intention of playing this game hardcore whatsoever. Literally was just like hey pick a game that I can do some dailies in and scratch an itch for 1 more game like dokkan battle. Dailies, offline, done in 10 minutes.

Then I got arlecchino in my first 10 pull, a character I recognized without having played before cause she has such presence and style, seen YouTube clips and the like. Turns out the story is great with very few exceptions, the characters are mostly complex and developed (and I’m only on Liyue characters, 1 hangout done—beidou, and she’s a gem I need to pull, the captain every ship deserves.)

Fast forward 3 months and I’m gonna finish all the archon quests this week. I invested in father and she still carries HARD to this day. The biggest threat to my health bar is that I set grass on fire and gotta use burst to not die to environmental damage while blending enemies into loot. No regrets except that it has taken much time, but worth for the VAs I now know about and story I’ve experienced.

Arlecchino’s story is my favorite, Beidou’s hangout is amazing, Furina’s archon arc is stellar and best VA, sumeru’s archon quest is one of my favorite things in all of gaming, and natlan had the best set of characters (imo, and overall, plus favorite Citlali ) so far.

This game goes harder than it had any right to tbh. And I’m budgeting for so many characters ahead of time now. I might not get 36* abyss this time but probably will with columbina+ineffa. Exploration is fun, story is great, characters are peak, I had no idea what I was getting into. But I’m here for it now.

… and arlecchino is going to be my main blender on the way there, no regrets. Father/10
