Explaining how Artifact Trasmuter works
I’m so sorry, but I genuinely haven’t messed with this because it’s so confusing looking. Please, no hate, but can someone explain how this works like I’m 5? I’d really appreciate it.
If this is the wrong sub, I’m sorry for posting here! Please kindly direct me where I can get some help!
Thanks in advance for anyone able to assist!

You get to select main stat, set, slot, and 2 substats. Rarer slots costs more Elixirs. When upgraded, at least 2 of the substat upgrades will go into the 2 chosen substats (the bonus rolls every 4 levels you upgrade an artifact). Note this does not increase the chance ALL the bonus rolls will go into those 2 substats in any way, it just raises the floor. There is a limit that you can only craft 2 pieces per set per patch, but you should never run into that as a limiter.
Once per patch, you can sacrifice multiple leveled 5-star artifacts and/or artifact xp bottles to get 1 Elixir. This is worth doing every patch as Elixirs are very powerful and rare. Just use the XP bottles, it'll save you a lot of Mora in long run compared to using lvl'd artifacts.
Use Elixirs to *finish* building important characters by crafting the *one* piece that you couldn't farm naturally. This will most often be a %DMG Goblet with CR and CD substats despite the highest 4 elixir cost because they are so rare to find naturally. This will result in a guaranteed minimum 25-30CV on set %DMG Goblet which is amazing (some will still whine if it's not 35-40CV or because one or both of the other substats are suboptimal like that even matters). Though if you got lucky and a good enough one drop or have a good enough off piece Goblet, you could craft a Sands or Circlet if needed. Don't craft Flowers/Feathers. Despite the low cost for Flowers/Feathers, good ones aren't rare enough to warrant using Elixirs on them.
Best characters to craft for are DPS characters with only 2-3 good substats and want rare Mainstats. Nefer is a perfect example as EM mainstats are very rare and is only option for Sands/Goblet and she ONLY cares about CR+CD+EM substats, and one of those 3 will always be the mainstat so you can guarantee the other 2 will be on the piece and at least 2 of the bonus rolls will go into them. Skirk is another good example. In Contrast, Mualani is probably less useful as she can use %HP, EM, CR, and CD and can use a variety of mainstats including the much more common %HP making it relatively easy to just farm her pieces naturally. And on the other spectrum, Kuki is also bad to craft for because she ONLY cares about EM mainstats, so you'd be wasting the guaranteed substats. It may take a while, but for Kuki, just keep farming pieces until the EM Mainstat drops.
You have a very limited regular supply of Elixirs (and Dusts) so don't waste them. But don't just sit on them forever either and slave away grinding artifacts praying the one piece you want drops. If an important DPS character is just missing that one slot with no good or better options and you've already farmed all their other Artifacts, just craft the last piece and be done and save yourself 1-2 months of farming. Ways to be wasteful would be to keep crafting the same piece more than once, over and over praying for marginal upgrades, crafting before farming the other 3-4 pieces, or crafting every piece for a character instead of settling for a few OK pieces you do have and only crafting to replace your worst piece (Nefer is probably only exception, but you'd still wait until you were done farming the Flower/Feather naturally before crafting anything still missing or would be a big upgrade).
Idk why all those people need to write a fucking esses to explain such a simple thing lmao
Or put another way: One of your defined substats could roll twice, and the other get none.
