I'm assuming that Dornman Port is coming with Varka in either Luna V or VI and that he'll have a story quest focused around returning to Mondstadt through there.

That's what my guess is too! It'll be like after we saved Nod-Krai, we're going to have some big thing happening involving Varka and maybe one of those 6 characters they teased on the live stream.

From what I know, Lohen is a part of the expedition, so I'm expecting him to make an appearance in one of the Archon Quests in Nod-Krai, however Gretel is being trained by Amber, so if she's one of those six, she may show up.

Gretel... I remember that name. That's the one mentioned in the snow event. It'd be cool if these two are part of those 6!

Holy sht don't scare me like that, I don't have the heart to go through ANOTHER filler region for a whole year before Snezhnaya.
-ShInIgAmIsAmA-2026-01-05 06:02
Well, I can't really put it in the title since it might be spoilers. Sorry.

Nod Krai is not a filler region are you insane
Fabulous_Ground_19832026-01-05 10:36
Listen. There was ZERO mention of Nod Krai at all for the majority of Genshin's lifespan (4 years). We did hear plenty about Snezhnaya though.
Nod Krai is a made up region designed to do two things.
1. Delay Snezhnaya and the end of the main Teyvat twins story. This is common in gacha games. FGO did something similar between it's 7th lostbelt chapter and the finale.
2. Release characters that were previously held back for years like Varka, Durin and Nicole.
By definition, Nod Krai IS filler. It may be cool filler, but we were promised Snezhnaya after Natlan in the Teyvat chapter trailer, and we didn't get it when we should have.
Neospanner2026-01-05 20:53
It is. A much-needed filler region, but a filler region it is.
We were given a roadmap for the game in the beginning, and the devs stuck to it up through Natlan. Nod-Krai was not a part of it, and the devs outright said that they needed some extra space to bring folks up to speed on the lore of the game before diving into the Snezhnaya chapter.
And Liben was the harbinger of Nod-Krai. His dialog in November of 2024 was the first that the players had heard of Nod-Krai. Everyone was expecting him to chatter about Snezhnaya, since that was supposed to be the upcoming nation after Natlan.
Now, he's chattering about Dornman Port instead of Snezhnaya, so it's honestly not surprising that some folks would be nervous that this means we'll be getting ANOTHER year's delay to Snezhnaya.

You're too much of a fool to assume Nod Krai wasn't gonna be a part of Snezhnaya originally
Neospanner2026-01-06 14:19
When did I ever say that? Of COURSE Nod-Krai was originally going to be part of Snezhnaya! Just a small sub-region of it, like Watatsumi is for Inazuma. We'd spend maybe one Act of the Snezhnayan Archon Quests there.
If it had been intended to be a stand-alone area, like it is now, it would have featured in Travail, and the devs wouldn't have gone through the effort of explaining to folks why we weren't going to Snezhnaya as originally planned.

how do you have liben?
Nexius_2026-01-05 23:59
different servers get events at different moments. Asia gets them first, Europe gets them later, NA gets them last since that's how the day goes

Hello all, if anyone needs specific boxes for your Liben event, can refer to this active spreadsheet - [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vQj1MUAs10wtXdHuc8Fmpdk-Ncwz1SmJbW8T--Yx0T7IzRu2lB38OhUQV5Y7OrTNwK83pZXacWOTnRj/pubhtml](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/1/d/e/2PACX-1vQj1MUAs10wtXdHuc8Fmpdk-Ncwz1SmJbW8T--Yx0T7IzRu2lB38OhUQV5Y7OrTNwK83pZXacWOTnRj/pubhtml)
