The skip button

Hello Im playing genshin since the beginning and my brain is just tired of dialogues and chatts. The fontaine main side quest is 8 hours long and all of that is pure dialogues and useless lines.

When is mihoyo going to introduce the skip button ?

You sound exactly like all the people who said *"you do understand that if Mihoyo wanted to let you bypass 'this character is busy in another quest' error, they would have already done it"* right up until they added that bypass.

Also, *you* do understand that no matter what justification you give for Mihoyo forcing you to sit through the quests, you can't actually force people who don't want to read the quest to read it, right?

With Genshin, I think they have a concept of 'time spent in game' = Primos gained. Obviously doesn't apply to mini games in events or endgame, but if you look at every other aspect, there's a particular amount of primos you'll get when you spend a particular amount of time doing the quest (specifically, skipping through it). But that's just my understanding.

Playtime = sunk-cost, and time playing is time exposed to the temptations to pull/spend. Even events that show off the playable characters do so to make them more likeable and make people more likely to pull for them.

First, you hook in players with the cool game, get them into a daily habit of logging in for rewards, and so eventually they've spent so much time in the game it feels like a waste to just quit. On top of that, give them a taste of easy primogems, get them into the gambling and get a few wins to enjoy the dopamine, and then starve them of more rewards to make them want to spend to gamble more. You get a trickle of primos for playing, but that's just to feed back into the playtime goal and exposure to temptation.

It's honestly amazing how pretty much every element of the game winds back around to the gambling machine if you look hard enough.

Probably never. Genshin got unlucky as the only one of their games to not have one, and it's probably on purpose.

They use it as an incentive to make their other games look better like Mid Rail and Fanservice Zero.

Just try to do something else while you mindlessly spam click, like watch a yt video or something.

its a very common thing
people wanted since day 1
and here we are in year 6 with no skip button in sight, except 4 star character Hangouts, specifically for skipping parts you already did, and nothing else

a response we get sometimes, that makes the most sense
unlikely we get a skip button unless we get a way to replay quests and events

good, never add skip button, I think if you dont want to read at least even some of it, then i think you shouldnt play it. If you dont enjoy it, dont play. I dont understand the motivation to just skip majoirty of things.

Besides, you can opt to not touch the story and play the explorations only. That's your "skip". You'll be missing out on some rewards, but it's not even that much in total. The game literally gives you an option to do that. Just dont expect to get the rewards from not doing it.

Not everyone plays games for the story. Some people just want combat and exploration. I only do the story for the primos otherwise I wouldn’t even touch it. That’s also why I’m not bothering with Genshin anymore. They seriously need a skip button. Not everyone is unemployed and has 8 hours to sit through endless yapping. At that point, it’s better to watch anime or movies than a mid story in a game.

Just Play Wuthering Waves for that. Even Upcoming Arknights: Endfield in next 17 days. They respecting your time + they have skip button most of the time.

They simply defending for lack of skip button on Genshin. Im gonna bet they even defending with this shitty "story" on there espcially 6.0 low effort "Story!"

They literally just added story replay, and you can see in the top right there is a "end recollection" (skip) button.
It is also implemented in hangout quests.

The fact is it is obvious as day they can implement the skip button whenever they want and that they literally CHOOSE not to cause whatever data they have probably shows that not having one is currently better for their player retention than having one.

Never. Skipping dialogue = skipping Paimon and that will never be allowed.

Paimon is the game's actual MC and letting you skip their dialogue would go against their agenda of making Paimon the centre of attention for absolutely everything.

Notice that for the first time ever the trailer for the next patch didn't have any Paimon in it? Also notice that this year's lantern rite had a huge statue of Paimon in it? They can't leave it out of one thing without massively over-compensating in every other area. Genshin = Paimon = Genshin, no skipping allowed.
