I guess for me personally I just want to have my characters in a usable state. It feels bad when it takes a week to even make the character usable.
I also enjoy taking my time with the farming, but with artifacts instead. I’m *very* patient when it comes to waiting for that one substat upgrade to push the damage up by 1%. But not when it comes to making the character actually usable.

With new characters coming out all the time, I want the character I just pulled to be usable immediately. Perfecting artifacts and stuff can wait, but the bare minimum of ascending them and their talents can't really.
Also, endgame is usually balanced around the new character during their release window, incentivising having your characters ready immediately.

In addition to what others said, there is often endgame content (Abyss, Styg) tailored for the new shiny characters and procrastinators like me are forced to clear it with suboptimal teams, because the new characters aren't in fully usable state

At this point they should just drop this cancerous mechanic, it's not fun to search for them, for some I don't even have the chars to show them on he map and sometimes the radius is way too big. And respawning after two days is so god awful man. While they are at it they can also drop the weekday limit for domains completely, especially for weapon domains.
