I have none of the lunar characters, am I cooked for wanting to pull for columbina?

So i saw a list of columbina teams and I noticed that all of them had ineffa or at least another nod krai 5 star. I've barely played since the main archon quests of natlan finished so I don't have any of the new characters other than jahoda.

I want her for my harbinger collection but I still want to be able to use her, tf do i do??? 😭

I don’t have any nod Krai 5 stars either. I’m guessing Columbina can trigger Lunar reactions with any normal character… I hope that’s the case

From what I understand that is the case.

Every lunar reaction has been “Hydro + something” and the only reason Aino hasn’t been able to be the trigger is that stupid “um well she doesn’t have a moon wheel so she cannot trigger lunar reactions on her own” bs.

If your goal is to clear stygian fearless, then yes. Bina is not a great character without: ineffa, lauma, nefer, zibai, or flins

I mean it sounds like you have a lot of content to catch up on so getting primos shouldn’t be a problem for you. If you wanna have the most fun with Columbina I’d say that you probably would wanna pull either Ineffa and play them togheter with older dps units or pull Zibai that’s the new GEO Lunar Crystalize DPS that works well with Columbina. If you like any of the other NK (lunar) 5\*s, just plan to pull them at some point as well.

Pull for ineffa. Then pull for Columbina. Maybe you'll get lucky and get both. Either way, Columbia will probably rerun sooner than Ineffa so better to prioritize Ineffa. But, if you're not going to spend money, theres no point in attempting a Harbinger collection if you're not going to actively play.

Columbina + Zibai 3 weeks after that is also an option if you want a lunar DPS character.

I can say how I plan for it since I don't have any of them either (except Aino obviously)...

I'll pull for Ineffa and then spend the rest for Columbina (I'm guaranteed for Ineffa)..if I get an early Columbina I would already have Ineffa.

If I don't get her then I'll run a team with Varesa, Ineffa, Aino, and whoever I like as the fourth slot...I'll save until 6.5 or 6.6 depending on who is on the banners (like Nefer or Lauma)
..Sandrone is number one on who I'll pull (since Alice will take some time before she becomes playable).

Edit: (Meaning I'll pull Columbina on her rerun since she gets at least one this year (probably in summer if it's the same timing as Mavuika))

Edit 2: The only exception to saving is when my baby girl Jahoda reruns on any of them

Bina can trigger lunar reactions but if you want her teams to do decent damage she really wants at least one other 5* Nod Krai unit on your account. Otherwise she seems like a Furina sidegrade, which isn’t terrible but it really underutilizes her kit.

If you can pick up Ineffa too they make each other so much better.

At the end of the day Columbina will help you with the Nodkrai mechanics so as long as your account has some investment you will be fine without any of them, but if your account needs all the help it can get then obviously getting Ineffa or Lauma with her would be ideal.

Ineffa is also n the banner with another Lunar reactor who wants her after that banner.

Nah i have a decent enough abyss team, I can clear floors 9-11 and only miss one star on the last chamber of 11, I don't wanna touch floor 12 again after beating it last year so I just need a slightly better team to get that last star and I'm satisfied.

I'm like 13 pulls away from pity so I'll probably get ineffa and hope I can get lucky with columbina

The good thing is any lunar 5-star will work with her, even the "supports". So you've got 5 characters to choose from right now, 2 of which will be available in the same patch and the next 3 probably in the few patches after.

But if you don't *want* any of the Nod Krai 5-stars, yeah she is basically useless. Her kit does very little in the first place, she shines by virtue of replacing Aino who does litteraly no damage, but Ineffa does more damage than Columbina while providing bigger buffs to Lunar Charge specifically (but no buffs for other lunar reactions, that's where Bina comes in). Without Lunar main/sub DPSes she is just a hydro applicator amongst many other, she enables very weak lunar reactions to bypass boss mechanics I guess, and her sub-dps is not bad but not amazing alone. So keep that in mind.

Yes, even if she can trigger lunar reactions on her own, her kit is useless without NK characters.

Her strongest non-NK teams (with the exception of Skirk) are still weaker than the weakest NK team, so if you want to clear endgame with her it's highly adviced to pull for other NK characters, especially Ineffa.

Columbina is very weak on her own, so she needs to be supported by either NK characters or a full freeze wheelchair with Skirk - Escoffier - Furina.
