Would really appreciate a server transfer feature

Inquired about the possibility of transferring my account to a more appropriate server and was met with a resounding "No". Just another QOL feature present in basically every other server based game but not here. I'd even accept if it was a paid feature from the start just to have the option. I've been asking for this feature in customer survey for a while and decided to try contacting CS directly just to receive this response. Thoughts?

Several online games don’t allow this because they offer different content on different servers, so things you’ve collected or paid for may not go along or may cause problems internally, or there may be regional-driven differences internally to meet regulatory requirements. I know League of Legends doesn’t permit this, either.

League does allow transfer from NA To EU for RP, That's the type of server transfer I'm thinking of.

They don’t allow Asia to NA for sure. I tried for a friend who moved to the US because it also wouldn’t allow login to Asia from the US.

They could just outright server-locked items and just make it a "consequence" of switching servers. Or maybe at least refund the player with in-game premium currency or something. They can make it happen, it's just probably not that common enough of an issue to be worth it for them to do so since they'd probably need to make a process for it rather than manually transferring data from one server to another.

You can connect to other servers just fine, it’s the lag that is a problem. I moved to EU from NA and I’m fine since my ISP is fast, but I could see it being a problem for others.

I take it this is to make account selling less of an issue because regional pricing for Primos somewhat matters.

I hope I never have to move anywhere too far, the lag in Genshin can feel pretty terrible since it affects stuff like picking up items and some combat mechanics.

I remember back in the day that Xinyan could basically never use her skill properly if you had a bit of lag since it only ever counted as hitting one enemy (probably still works that way...) etc.

EU server got automatically chosen for me when I started the game on mobile. because I'm in asia, this means I constantly have to deal with 190 ping or more. Ialso asked this 5 years ago, and the still have the same answer now. I just enjoyed EU and made random friends here. 190 - 250 ping isn't even as bad as it sounds for genshin
