Navia, Xilonen, Columbina & (Insert here) we are so back
Available-Kiwi-58292026-01-06 05:20
Noelle?
asilvertintedrose2026-01-06 05:21
Xilonen needs 3 element teams including Pyro, Cryo, Hydro & Electro for her healing (More than Noelle), cant use her in this comp
HorribleDat2026-01-06 05:27
Bina+Ineffa for ascendant gleam and a bit of lunar-charged? Not sure if Navia + Xilonen would eat the aura too fast.
asilvertintedrose2026-01-06 05:37
That might work although Ascendant Gleam EM doesnt do much for Crystallize, perhaps Bennett, or Scroll Iansan w/Petra Xilonen
(I dont have Ineffa though)
Available-Kiwi-58292026-01-06 05:28
Then probably Illuga or Zibai
HeavenBeach7772026-01-06 05:28
benny or Iansan
app082026-01-06 05:40
Not quite accurate, XN needs two PECH teammates in order to heal. Three elements on the team isn't necessarily a requirement.
ibbobud2026-01-06 07:01
No healing if we kill them first… and besides we rolling bina with P. Amber
Nameless492026-01-06 05:27
Can't wait to try Furina in this team

Will Navia Chiori Bina Xilonen C2 works?
kitsune_miko_tiktok2026-01-06 06:58

More character locked reactions zzz
Comprehensive-Map2742026-01-06 05:12
I am gonna go against the grain here and say I think Lunar reactions are actually super good for the game and fun esp how Lunar Crystallize is being implameented
maxitola20092026-01-06 05:22
Idk man, lunar crystallize is the only interesting one so far (and from the looks of it the final one unless they decide to give columbina a major kit update in the future). Lunar EC is just EC with a fancy font, and lunar bloom has literally 0 difference in functionality from regular bloom besides giving verdant dews, which you can only use if you have nefer or lauma.
Witty_Tea_19292026-01-06 05:36
When columbina and sandrone are in the party, columbina will unlock a secret reaction.
nyuulaa2026-01-06 06:31
Lunar lesbianism
beautheschmo2026-01-06 07:42
i think Lunar EC is actually pretty well-concepted, while the final result isn't that different, it fixes a lot of EC's problems (primarily, very inconsistent reaction ownership) which allows a lot more room for it to scale since you can have a bit of EM on everyone + additional crit scaling, while also having some weaker properties that could inform how you build it vs regular EC (like having less AOE) so it does feel meaningfully different.
Of course the real problem is that lunar reactions themselves are not very good, so far all of them are transformative reactions in a meta that has completely left them behind, and even if powercreep was far lower than it is now, they still would do less damage than the old good ones (hyperbloom), so all of them basically just function as keyword buffs for the characters who use them instead of being an interesting teambuilding function (especially lunar bloom that does literally nothing)
TuneACan2026-01-06 05:36
On concept they are, or at least most of them. Lunar charged and Lunar Crystalize allow two underwhelming reactions to actually deal good damage while also benefiting from crit alongside EM, allowing for some pretty nice builds.
The problem is 3 things: Moonsign, 5\* exclusivity and Lunar-Bloom.
Moonsign is a terrible, TERRIBLE mechanic that does absolutely nothing except massively restrict team compositions and handicap characters for no reason. Aino goes from a decent Hydro applier to total dogwater outside of Ascendant Gleam. Nefer has her main gimmick axed without Ascendant Gleam. Jahoda loses her main appeal without Ascendant Gleam. These mechanics force Lunar Reaction characters not named Ineffa to use either their premium supports or Aino, and force Nod-Krai 4\*s to have basically no utility outside of Nod-Krai teams.
5\* exclusivity makes Lunar Reactions not feel like actual reactions. We have all these new and interesting reaction mechanics that ends up not affecting gameplay whatsoever unless players are up-to-date with pulling. The fact that they're locked to a specific group of characters make these reactions feel like glorified character gimmicks; Lunar-Charged no longer feels like an actual reaction and instead feels like an ascension talent, like Ororon's A1. For any returnees, new players or skippers that are saving for a specific Mondstadt or Hexenzirkel characters, these reactions flat out don't exist because they will not get to see them unless they roll for a 5\* character.
And finally, Lunar-Bloom is just dogshit. It literally does nothing different except generate a resource only 2 characters can actually use. It's no different than Navia being able to give herself shells by triggering Crystalize or Kinich giving himself more Nightsoul when triggering Burning. It's a nothing mechanic. It's a complete waste of game space, player time and text.
The idea is there, and I really wish they got the execution right because these are some very interesting concepts. But the execution was just terrible for no specific reason.
Toxic_MotionDesigner2026-01-06 05:41
Not to mention how moonsign and it's interactions with Nod Krai enemies gave birth to some of the worst mechanics ever.
Especially the Wild Hunt losers that basically get double their HP for simply not having 2 nod Krai units
TuneACan2026-01-06 05:46
That too. Although it was already in Natlan with the Void Wards, these feel much more oppressive for some reason.
OwnRepresentative9162026-01-06 06:10
3 characters can use Verdant Dew but yeah
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 06:37
Lunar charged isn't better than electro charged though. It hits half as half and has no AoE like electro charged. And hitting half as fast means it won't do better against abyss shielded enemies like the papilla or the tenebrous mimosa.
Lunar charged just looks like it's hard hitting cuz lunar charged characters do direct lunar charged dmg which do triple the damage of regularly lunar charged for the fun of it.
Lunar crystallize is another story though. Lunar crystallize is the best of the 3 lunar reactions. It is an actual upgrade from 0 dmg to probably 20k damage every second at best consistency. And lunar crystallize also fundamentally shakes things up for even the old geo cast- creating geo constructs from an elemental reaction.
So lunar reactions do suck in practice but you had to see it coming. Like I believe it was since Mavuika-Citlali banner, or pretty much the coming of Skirk, we are seeing niche pairs being advertised. It's not just shilling to propel sales. It's now synergies being sold and ascendant gleam mechanic and even Hexerei:Secret Rite are examples of synergies that are being sold through catered content as advertising, etc.
In the 6.0 beta, ascendant gleam used to demand for 3 Nod krai characters. That would have been downright awful. As expensive and restrictive as Skirk if not more.
Rather, we got a pair package that ends up being sold, and lunar charged is a feature being sold by the product of 5 star lunar reaction characters.
I can see Hoyo eventually giving f2p option of accessing these reactions through lunar Traveler as they do have the moon marrow in possession so hydro Traveler upscale may be seen since they have finally found priority to give Traveler skins and even buffs, the full extent which remains to be seen. So like if lunar Traveler could be a good buffer through consumption of verdant Dews, that could at least increase engagement of lunar bloom, as it's main purpose was doing damage with Nefer, and more quills on top of lunar bloom damage from Lauma's hold skill.
So we will have to wait and see what comes of the Traveler by the end of the Archon Quest. Traveler still hasn't really resonated with moon hydro in the gameplay sense, similar to pyro Traveler only being able to at v5.3 with Natlan AQ Act V. So if we are seeing 8 or 10 acts of Song of Welkin Moon AQ, lunar Traveler is a few updates away from possibly being revealed.
Furicel2026-01-06 06:58
>without Ascendant Gleam. These mechanics force Lunar Reaction characters not named Ineffa to use either their premium supports
It's always funny to me seeing how Lauma dodges all the Lunar slander. Half the playerbase forgets she's a lunar character, the other half thinks she's goated.
Also, lunar charged isn't that good without Ineffa doing direct damage, my taser team of Ifa, Ororon, Furina does worse on LC than it does on normal EC somehow, probably because Ifa isn't built with crit, but it goes to show that it's not a revitalization, it's a side grade at best without Ineffa's direct damage.
Lunar bloom isn't even a reaction, it could've been a resource built into Nefer's kit (like Navia's bullets) and it would change literally nothing. There was so much potential for "lunar dendro cores" and they fumbled so hard.
Lunar Crystalize, though? Lunar Crystalize is the GOAT, straight up an upgrade in any teams, fundamentally changes the old reaction in a way that is fun and interesting, shakes up team dynamics, looks good AND doesn't depend on direct damage to do good numbers.
TuneACan2026-01-06 07:03
Lauma dodges all the Lunar slander because on her own she's alright. It's not because Lauma in particular is more cleverly designed, it's just that she feels like a Nahida that traded personal Quicken damage for a Bloom buffing ability, and that's it. Her lunar shittery is just there to artificially enable her to be a Nefer teammate since otherwise she'd buff bloom damage for a character that doesn't deal bloom core damage.
I'd be more welcoming towards Lunar Crystalize if it wasn't a mechanic tied to literally just 2 characters. "Navia can get huge value out of this!", hoyo says in this post, but this can only happen with TWO of the over 100 characters in the entire game, one of which has no reason to ever be in a Navia team. It's a great idea to upgrade a really shit reaction, but they just artificially limit it to 2 characters in such a way that it feels like a massive letdown.
Toxic_MotionDesigner2026-01-06 06:08
I would've been inclined to agree if there were more sources of dealing Lunar reaction damage via 4 star units, artifact sets or weapons but seeing how hoyo intentionally put Illuga and Zibai in the same patch but didn't give Illuga the ability to enable lunar crystallize means they fully intended for Lunar reactions to be locked behind 5 star units.
Also the very existence of the moonsign gimmick makes this even worse
Blabime2026-01-06 07:43
I wouldn't know because I've never triggered one with a character I own.
I'll give you Lunar Crystalize does look cool but that doesn't matter if I have no way of triggering it.
geigerz2026-01-06 10:05
yeah it's super great having reactions that only benefit 5 units in the entire game and are locked behind an arbitrary decision (moonwheel) that they refuse to give even for 4*, god bless hoyoverse!!!
/s
see this is why they will keep doing it, you think lunar cristalize Will be a huge buff to other units with columbina only at the party? think again, without other nodkrai units her lunar reactions will be way less than they should, because they want you to pull for new units
this is not a furina situation, one is a universal support, other is a universal enabler, difference is she enable some mediocre numbers where furina needs only a healer to buff anyone really good
I HATE ARBITRARY RESTRICTIONS MADE ONLY TO SELL NEW UNITS
Necessary_Fennel_5912026-01-06 05:12
I really hope the snezhnaya mechanics are not restrictive, and it would be cool if old characters can interact with these new mechanics.
geigerz2026-01-06 10:01
they're locking buffs to old units behind restrictions, this is how genshin will deal with stuff now
after the beta that was pneumosia and then mavuika needing nightsoul points to ult faster, this is the final product
sadly we have to get used to it, cause it sells anyway so they will keep doing it
SecretSpectre112026-01-06 05:23
If they gave us a 4* that enables them it would be great but that does not seem like the case currently
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 05:36
I think the reactions are pretty neat, and given that Traveler is already seeing getting buffs, I could see an ascendant gleam Traveler in the works of an enhanced hydro Traveler.
Just as pyro Traveler was unlocked through a Final fight of an AQ, so could lunar hydro Traveler.

It doesn't.

BobTheGodx2026-01-06 05:20
It does if you have Columbina in the team
Comprehensive-Map2742026-01-06 05:17
when you trigger lunar crystallize you get bullets
"When a character in the party obtains an Elemental Shard created from the Crystallize reaction, **or when they trigger the Lunar-Crystallize reaction,** Navia will gain 1 Crystal Shrapnel stack. Navia can have up to 6 stacks of Crystal Shrapnel at once. Each time Crystal Shrapnel gain is triggered, the duration of the Crystal Shrapnel stacks you already have will be reset. **Through the Lunar-Crystallize reaction, Navia will gain up to 1 Crystal Shrapnel stack every second**."
Godly-Judger2026-01-06 05:18
Oh that’s pretty good
elevikasa2026-01-06 09:41
How about her goblet? Is geo goblet not gonna be good for her the same way electro goblet isn't good for Flins?
Ahuranni2026-01-06 09:53
The reason why an Electro Goblet isn't good for Flins is because he does a lot of direct LC damage with his abilities, not just from triggering the reaction itself. Navia's damage is still going to be raw Geo, not reaction damage, so she'll still want a Geo Goblet.
CallMe___2026-01-06 05:19
It only works with hydro and geo reaction with Columbina in team else you get normal crystalize reaction.
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 05:24
Navia gains crystal shrapnel automatically when lunar crystallize is triggered. No longer needs to collect shares using hold skill or manually. Pretty nice QoL.

Surely further Traveler buffs mean that hydro Traveler would be lunar enhanced and enable those reactions. Even with unchanged skill and burst, he would at least be a lunar bot, not as much as clanker Ineffa.
Komiisimp2026-01-06 05:27
Surely...
leakmydata2026-01-06 07:50
Maybe what they’d do is allow his geo, dendro, and electro forms trigger lunar crystallize, linar bloom, and lunar charged respectively.
Doesn’t seem likely that they’d allow him to trigger all lunar reactions like Columbina.
aligat0r_rar2026-01-06 07:55
totally should with how shit hydro traveler is, what’s crazy is even if him being on the team enabled those reactions, he’d still suck

Does this make Zhongli meta?
Arlathaminx2026-01-06 05:26
We'll have to see the multipliers first I think, also how much of a difference Zhongli's resonating makes for trigger frequency. I haven't checked the leaks sub, maybe they already have numbers there
thesqrrootof4is22026-01-06 05:55
>!As a reaction by itself, Lunar Crystallize is just the same as Lunar-Charge. It almost follows the same formula as LC, but LCr does less damage that LC because the scales of DEF and it has a smaller multiplier than LC (1.8 for LCr instead of 3 from LC)!<
>!What LCr has going for it is that it has no ICD, so fast application will get you to trigger LCr frequently, which will fire the turrets faster.!<
>!I might be wrong on this last part tho, but apparently applying Hydro on Geo won’t trigger LCr, so it has to be applying Geo to Hydro that triggers the reaction, so fast Geo app is going to work well, and since the turrets are considered constructs, it helps Zhongli and Chiori apply Geo faster too!<
OwnRepresentative9162026-01-06 06:07
It's not that applying Hydro onto Geo won't trigger LCR, but that there are almost no Geo auras in the game. If you encounter an enemy with a Geo aura, then Hydro app can proc LCR.
thesqrrootof4is22026-01-06 06:15
Ah that makes more sense then
*deals Geo Damage to Herra
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 06:22
Lunar crystallize doesn't scale off of DEF though. This is not direct talent-based lunar crystallize we are talking about.
This seems to be quite a common misconception. It's like thinking lunar charged scales off of ATK cuz Ineff and Flins do direct lunar charged dmg with atk% scaling multipliers.
No, lunar crystallize doesn't scale off of DEF. It scales off of EM and crit just as normal lunar charged. So it does effectively the same damage, but electro characters would be built with more EM than geo characters typically. There are more EM scaling electro characters than geo characters.
And what Zhongli has going for him is that his pillar resonance hits every second and with the standard ICD, the 3 extra hits from moondrifts means Zhongli's construct resonance will apply lunar crystallize every second so every 3 seconds the moondrifts do 3 hits if damage.
thesqrrootof4is22026-01-06 06:33
Yeah I might’ve mixed up of some of the variables cause I was just recalling the formula off the top of my head when I typed this
But all these points make sense. The reactions by themselves deal nearly same damage at the end of the day
minddetonator2026-01-06 07:22
If I'm not mistaken, Zhongli's stele resonance hits every 2 seconds.
Ezmankong2026-01-06 09:37
C1 Zhongli has 2 pillars, so 2 hits every 2 seconds.
Fullpotentialk2026-01-06 05:55
His jp va is excited for jt
SomeAwakenedDude2026-01-06 07:00
Slightly less team dmg than c6 Gorou but comes with massive qol. Zibai doesnt have IR and cant dodge during her NA string without losing dmg so he's basically BiS for her
DeadenCicle2026-01-06 08:23
Not meta, but at least more consistent at hitting the enemy with at least one source of damage due to increased coverage.
The resonance with Zhongli’s pillar is nice, but it has a low range and the summoned Moondrifts are static, so more often than not the resonance attacks won’t hit the enemy or not all of them unless the enemy is static. Then Zhongli’s pillar can still be easily broken.
If they will fix those issues in the future though, that would make him much better for Lunar Crystallize teams.
Rewriter_2026-01-06 05:24
Albedo, Durin/Mona, Zibai and Columbina? 👀👀👀
KingOfTheKitsune2026-01-06 05:49
I think Mona would be better in that situation?
Puzzleheaded_Roll3202026-01-06 05:24
If I understand this correctly, I guess Geo Traveler as solo Geo won’t help much with Lunar-Crystallize (not enough Geo app). Quite a shame because I thought with the Crit Rate buff, he can be more competitive with the meta
OwnRepresentative9162026-01-06 06:08
That's fine because there is no reason you can't use a second Geo on that team. Geo Traveler/Zhongli/[Gorou/Chiori]/Columbina should be decent.
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 06:38
Maybe in a double geo team would it make sense. Like Geo Traveler + Zhongli + Columbina, cuz Zhongli would resonate additionally with Geo Traveler's geo constructs from skill and burst.
The_Lone_Wanderer_042026-01-06 07:44
Sure but Geo traveler just got a nassive buff to his synergy with Zhongli.
Geo travelers burst ignores the construct limut completely and gives 4 constructs which has always been fantastic for Zhongli and keeping the Tenacity set passive on but now it will work fantastically to trigger the lunar crystalize damage aswell.
Geo traveler is my main and I always paired them with Zhongli, so this reaction is perfect to me.
Khoakuma2026-01-06 05:24
Lunar Crystalize seems like the only Lunar reaction that offers something new.
Lunar Charged and Lunar Bloom have been hugely disappointing.
Chadzuma2026-01-06 05:24
You guys think Albedo Fischl Columbina Ineffa will be a good team
Ironsight122026-01-06 05:35
If you need Lunar-Crystallize for some mechanic, yes but the overall DPS will be lower than complete Flins, Nefer, and Zibai teams.
gxxncxrlo2026-01-06 06:00
Nah, you’ll end up doing Electro Crystallize in that team instead of Lunar (Hydro) Crystallize. Fischl’s Electro app alone is way too fast.
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 06:53
No. Albedo applies geo every other hit under 2.5s rule, and on every 3rd hit so every 4 and 6 seconds. You need to lunar crystallize 3 times for the moindrifts to attack. So Albedo's skill would take like 6 seconds for moondrifts to deal damage.
Zhongli would be better and so would Navia through her burst. Navia's burst hits once every 0.75s with 3 hit rule but 12s ICD. So after Navia's burst applies geo the first time at 0.75s, so every 2.25s which is faster than every 4 seconds.
duelaxis2026-01-06 05:25
more hydro and geo application means more dmg right? slow applications will suck then.
CascaDEER2026-01-06 05:25
Am I noticing a theme that only hydro reactions could be lunar reactions?
Roxxso2026-01-06 06:11
Pretty much. I was hoping lunar crystallize wouldn't be hydro locked, but it was always going to be that way since Columbina is hydro and it all revolves around her. All that's left is Swirl, so we'll see if Varka adds it in (though I doubt it since he *shouldn't* have a moon wheel vision) or another anemo character.
CascaDEER2026-01-06 06:15
Is lunar vaporize and freeze off the table?
Roxxso2026-01-06 06:19
Oh yeah, forgot about vaporize. Guess that could be introduced with Nicole. As for freeze, I don't know. Not sure what else you could do with it. Maybe something to do with buffing physical damage making super-conduct more viable? I dunno.
Alpha06Omega092026-01-06 06:35
It won’t be, Nicole is hexi affiliated, and will play into those teams, These are the only 3 lunar reactions that will exist
Roxxso2026-01-06 06:41
Right. Although... having a character that could fill both a lunar role *and* a hex role *would* be pretty sweet. Won't happen, but it'd be really cool if she could.
TheoreticalScammist2026-01-06 06:28
Freeze could go either way but maybe they'll do something similar but for Cryo reactions in Snezhnaya/7.X?
Express-Bag-39352026-01-06 06:43
Yeah, that was the whole theme. Kuuvahki is basically gravitational pull and Columbina's kit is themed around the Moon's effect on tides, aka hydro.
Hoyo afraid of Columbina making Skirk as strong as Mavuika or making Mavuika even more strong with lunar vape.
But I hope that given the hydro reaction focus, it means hydro Traveler redemption arc. Hydro Traveler has been getting some love in recent cutscenes like in fight with Dottore with the Biden blast they fired and to also resist Dottore's own laser blast.
Man, I hope by the end of the song of working moon AQ, we get lunar hydro Traveler with access to the 3 lunar reactions and they get hydro Traveler kit upscale.
Starting to think Hoyo regretted butchering hydro Traveler kit so badly. It's so bad that it also butchered the boss fight against rerir.
hollyherring2026-01-06 06:49
Makes sense thematically since the moon is connected with the tides
silaswoody2026-01-06 05:26
So Geo x Hydro = 3 moon turrets.
If Geo x Pyro/ Electro/ Cryo, will there be 3 moon turrets as well? Or are the moon turrets restricted to Hydro crystallized?
SwiftSlayAR2026-01-06 05:32
lunar crystallize is only triggered with Hydro
Owl_aredope2026-01-06 05:31
Yoooooo, I’m geeked tho. I can run Yun Jin/Ayato and have a decent team, lfg
Edit: BEFORE anyone downvotes me, I just realized how bad a team that is. Apologies
ConciseSpy850672026-01-06 05:41

pzlama3332026-01-06 05:50
Same as lunar-charged and lunar-bloom: "trigger lunar-crystallize reaction", and "do damage that is considered as lunar-crystallize damage", are completely different.
Also same as lunar-charged, when you trigger lunar-crystallize reaction, it can do some damage (from moondrifts, as it shows) and this damage is considered as "reaction lunar-crystallize damage", which uses a similar formula as "reaction lunar-charged damage" with different factor number. This damage usually only contributes a small percentage of total team damage.
The majority damage of a Zibai team comes from some of her direct attacks which the damage "is considered lunar-crystallize damage". This damage belongs to "direct lunar-crystallize damage" category, and also uses a similar formula as "direct lunar-charged damage".
Over451F2026-01-06 05:59
Ok Geo and Hydro homies, Let's crystallize!!!
mr_beanoz2026-01-06 06:01
what would be the lunar reaction for other elements, then?
GEN0S6672026-01-06 06:09
Why cant aino trigger lunar
hollyherring2026-01-06 06:45
I think because she has a Vision and not a Moon Wheel
geigerz2026-01-06 10:08
lorewise? no moonwheel
real talk? hoyoverse wants you to pull 5* cause only them can enable lunar reactions
also probably why columbina is hydro and will be probably the only hydro with a moonwheel either for a long time or forever
BrandNewKitten2026-01-06 06:12
In my mind this all but confirms we are getting rimegrass reaction in Snezhnaya. Don’t ask me why. I just have a gut feeling.
My one question from this post is if Columbina allows none lunar characters to trigger lunar reactions. That’s kinda what the last tidbit implies, right?
BrandNewKitten2026-01-06 06:18
In version Luna VI, the Lunar-Crystallize reaction can be triggered once Columbina OR Zibai joins the party.
This implies that Columbina can cause Lunar reactions with ANY character? Meaning she wouldn’t be a support dedicated to Nod-Krai characters. She would buff any team she is on, right?
Alpha06Omega092026-01-06 06:33
Technically yes, but because how jackshit lunar reaction them self’s are, it’s not worth running her on non lunar teams without lauma or ineffa
According-Cobbler3582026-01-06 08:15
No but crystallize now does damage, it's a buff to every geo lol
Alpha06Omega092026-01-06 08:19
Adding electro charge worth of dmg is a buff sure, but it's so small it would matter a lot less than adding a good support that works in the team or an actual sub dps
KombuchaWay2026-01-06 14:57
> it’s not worth running her on non lunar teams without lauma or ineffa
Flins? :c
I only have him..
Alpha06Omega092026-01-06 15:55
Yeh thats fine
CorHydrae82026-01-06 07:23
As a returning player, if that's true, I might consider getting Columbina after all. I'm not going to go all in on getting all the meta characters of the new region, but if Columbina enables those reactions by herself, I'd at least get to play around with those.
Leaf_in_a_Forest2026-01-06 10:13
Columbina does indeed allow you to trigger any of the lunar reactions while in your party. Makes her a fantastic character for the low spenders who just want to play around with the new mechanics without having to wish for 3 separate characters
KazakiriKaoru2026-01-06 07:26
Yep, she's the equivalent of Furina enabling any character to use MH. Columbina makes any team that meets the elemental requirement into a Lunar team.
realtrashvortex2026-01-06 06:18
Wait, Illuga doesn't trigger lunar crystalize? :/
hollyherring2026-01-06 06:51
I don’t think so since he has a Vision and not a Moon Wheel
realtrashvortex2026-01-06 06:56
That's such a bummer 😭 kit based around a mechanic he can't activate himself? 💔
geigerz2026-01-06 10:58
welcome to the state of 4* regarding lunar reactions
baguettesy2026-01-06 06:23

crescentpieris2026-01-06 06:40
i’m glad we got to hear the thought process behind the design of lunar crystallize, although i’m still curious why it’s electro, dendro and geo specifically
Shradow2026-01-06 06:43
Hm, I wonder if there will be a team comp to make this another buff for Noelle.
Raijin402026-01-06 06:46
I'm thinking of running navia, columbina, ineffa, and beni. I'm not an expert theorycrafter, but that comp might work quite well.
jhinigami2026-01-06 06:57
Flowing water crushing rock basically
OkRepresentative12342026-01-06 06:59
Did I just read all that only to find out in the end that I would have to pull Columbina or Zibai for the whole thing?
Element_credd2026-01-06 08:21
The fact that this buffs every geo dps EXCEPT Itto hurts me, my boy needs something yall. I know we just got Durin and he was a marginally good upgrade (more like a side grade honestly) to the usual mono geo comp, but in order to run him you'd need to sacrifice a sustain slot, since running Durin with Albedo is recommended and Gorou is obviously joint to Ittos hip for the foreseeable future, so nothing much really changed for Itto teams except choosing whether you want Zhongli's shield or Durin/Albedo's synergy more for the team.
I thought Illuga would've been a good addition, but no, the majority of his kit benefits Zibai and Zibai only, seeing as she's our only dedicated Lunar crystallize dps, adding Illuga for the bit of extra geo damage isn't worth just adding either Albedo/Chiori instead and it's definitely not worth replacing Gorou. I hope in the future the mono geo comp receives an ACTUAL buff in the form of a new limited support much in the same vein as Escoffier for freeze teams or Lauma for bloom teams, basically a 5 star Gorou who potentially works as a good sub dps/sustain too would be nice.
OkExtension72892026-01-06 08:25
Next Imaginarium Theater: "You need 16 characters that can wield Moon power to start the challenge".
Wonderful-Fortune-232026-01-06 08:39
I hope they will keep updating Columbina's kit to add the future Lunar reactions with other elements still missing.
It would suck that we have to shell out for another unit that will handle the other half, and from a lore perspective, just doesn't feel right.
JackJackMFFM2026-01-06 08:59
So illuga + aino won't be able to trigger lunar-crystalized?
Witty_Tea_19292026-01-06 09:46
They are 4 stars.
JackJackMFFM2026-01-06 09:52
That's my point. Why 4 stars unable to do Lunar reaction? They all from Nod Krai right?
karillith2026-01-06 11:42
Thay saw us defend Genshin 4 stars compared to Star Rail and thought "not on my watch! Look how we're gonna screw them!"
But yeah 4 stars as f2p alternative for regional mechanic SHOULD be mandatory. As bad as Kachina is, at least shecan activate the whole nightsoul thingy.
geigerz2026-01-06 09:44
reserving these reactions only if you have specific 5* on the team was one of the worst things this game has ever done and they will keep doing it, there's no criticism against it it seems
it's fine if they make illuga worthless without zibai also, right guys?
Ythapa2026-01-07 06:40
It feels almost like Star Rail’s wild success with selling entire team comps/being restrictive took off in popularity across all Hoyo HQ, so now it’s spreading like COVID to all the other sister games.
It’s one of my biggest criticisms with modern day Genshin balance. At least they still release 4* , but please for the love of god give players a more accessible option to enjoy new mechanics instead of locking most away behind limited 5* chars
caiol3332026-01-06 18:07
Wait, iluga cant trigger it by himself even though he buffs it? This sucks

(I dont have Ineffa though)
"Remeet"
Mr Lunar Crystallize Maeno's happy no doubt.
Will be fun to bring out Navia for this.
Especially the Wild Hunt losers that basically get double their HP for simply not having 2 nod Krai units
Also the very existence of the moonsign gimmick makes this even worse
I'll give you Lunar Crystalize does look cool but that doesn't matter if I have no way of triggering it.
/s
see this is why they will keep doing it, you think lunar cristalize Will be a huge buff to other units with columbina only at the party? think again, without other nodkrai units her lunar reactions will be way less than they should, because they want you to pull for new units
this is not a furina situation, one is a universal support, other is a universal enabler, difference is she enable some mediocre numbers where furina needs only a healer to buff anyone really good
I HATE ARBITRARY RESTRICTIONS MADE ONLY TO SELL NEW UNITS
after the beta that was pneumosia and then mavuika needing nightsoul points to ult faster, this is the final product
sadly we have to get used to it, cause it sells anyway so they will keep doing it
Just as pyro Traveler was unlocked through a Final fight of an AQ, so could lunar hydro Traveler.
**"...With rocks."**
Doesn’t seem likely that they’d allow him to trigger all lunar reactions like Columbina.
/s
>!What LCr has going for it is that it has no ICD, so fast application will get you to trigger LCr frequently, which will fire the turrets faster.!<
>!I might be wrong on this last part tho, but apparently applying Hydro on Geo won’t trigger LCr, so it has to be applying Geo to Hydro that triggers the reaction, so fast Geo app is going to work well, and since the turrets are considered constructs, it helps Zhongli and Chiori apply Geo faster too!<
*deals Geo Damage to Herra
But all these points make sense. The reactions by themselves deal nearly same damage at the end of the day
The resonance with Zhongli’s pillar is nice, but it has a low range and the summoned Moondrifts are static, so more often than not the resonance attacks won’t hit the enemy or not all of them unless the enemy is static. Then Zhongli’s pillar can still be easily broken.
If they will fix those issues in the future though, that would make him much better for Lunar Crystallize teams.
Lunar Charged and Lunar Bloom have been hugely disappointing.
Zhongli would be better and so would Navia through her burst. Navia's burst hits once every 0.75s with 3 hit rule but 12s ICD. So after Navia's burst applies geo the first time at 0.75s, so every 2.25s which is faster than every 4 seconds.
If Geo x Pyro/ Electro/ Cryo, will there be 3 moon turrets as well? Or are the moon turrets restricted to Hydro crystallized?
Edit: BEFORE anyone downvotes me, I just realized how bad a team that is. Apologies
