Open the Character screen and read their Talents. Alternatively, you can watch videos on Youtube. Most of the characters pre-Fontaine are pretty easy to understand. Fontaine-Chars is still kinda legible; Natlan-Chars also makes me dizzy but trust me the things they do aren't really complicated.

…You’re clearly not illiterate given you were able to post so you should be able to read the in-game explanation?

OP has not realised he can open the character menu yet 😭

have you ever been on the talents screen? sounds to me like you didn´t know you could actually see talent descriptions.
If you read those, maybe its just overwhelming, which tbf it is sometimes. Maybe best is you search for a guide on youtube for your characters.

well tbf sometimes the wall of text that the abilities have is really fucking useless...i mean it makes sense since they want to give the full description which is good but for a summary you're better off just looking at guides since they give you the shorter version
like for bennett a concise guide will tell you that all you have to do is burst and swap out and staying in the circle gives you an atk buff

Google. “What does X character do in Razor speak,” maybe append reddit.

If only each character had a talent screen where it specifically told you all about this.
