So where do you guys think Snezhnaya will be on the map?
Picture is best I could find of the current map excluding Nod Kai in it, but I personally think that Snezhnaya will be a very snowy and cold Nation (but it won't have the Dragon spine cold effect because we won't really progress far without getting fed up if Snezhnaya has it), but I can't really picture where exactly it would be. All the Nations, apart from Inazuma, all seem to have a warm and summer-type of weather and with Snezhnaya being the Nation of Cryo; I don't really imagine it having anything but a cold and wintery climate

Snezhnaya is north Mondstadt and reaches up to Nod Krai considering its an autonomous region within Snezhnaya
How is it gonna be "Natlan west"
Anyways, it’s already been confirmed that Snezhnaya is north of Nod Krai. So my guess is that it will span the length of the northern area above Nod Krai and Fontaine, and possibly even Mondstadt if the region is large enough.
Inazuma had so many environmental effects that changed as you were doing quests like the fog and constant lightening I'm sad they stopped. Sumeru did have withering zones but something like blazing heat in the desert would have been so good.
Just reading the name of the final AQ in the travail trailer, “Everwinter Without Mercy” goes so hard that the region it’s in needs to live up to that name. Nod Krai is already a far cry from a “cold” area and the cryo nation needs to deliver.
Natlan still works as the pyro nation because it does at least have the Volcano of Tollan and actual lava that kills you when entering it. We need an area that kills you with cold in Snezhnaya at least.
Just my personal rant though.
I'm just setting my expectations low as remember Chiori telling Charlotte about how cold Nod Krai would be and she needed to change her outfit only for every playable female character in Nod Krai to have bare exposed legs. Even in the new map expansion coming next week the area still doesn't look cold.
Nobody else says NK is super cold, maybe only a little colder than other regions. But since people irl acclimatize to cold weather up to a certain point (I know a lot of Canadians and Europeans who go out in short sleeves in the winter and are fine; I myself went to school in Canada but moved back to Asia as an adult), I’m willing to believe Nod Krai is “colder but not super cold” compared to the rest of Teyvat sans Snezhnaya (and Dragonspine).
We are also still missing whichever area belongs to the Snowland Fae faction so I am holding out hope for a colder and snowier area to come as we move further north and closer to Snez.
This is more of a case of players fooling themselves into thinking they need the new characters to deal with Sheer Cold. Just like how people **still** think the Papilla is a Nightsoul shill (it’s not).
Also you can just bring a healer like I said. They also counter Sheer Cold.
It’s almost as if you haven’t actually explored Dragonspine back in 1.X before we had Dehya? Dealing with it wasn’t hard at all. Bring a healer and you’re fine.
What are you being so contrarian for anyways?
HoYo isn’t gonna tell people “whatever just use your selector to get Dehya” when they complain about mechanics like Sheer cold.
Your points don’t make sense and you’re using my comment just to trash Hoyo. If you’re gonna complain about Hoyo’s shift to P2W, this isn’t the right context to use. Go complain about the new boss in stygian requiring Lunar Reactions to clear Fearless instead.
That’s enough for today time to touch some grass.
Liyue is supposed to be the largest region if I'm remembering correctly that was mentioned somewhere but we still don't have all of Liyue's coastline so I think Snezhnaya will be similar in size to current Liyue.
