Do You Enjoy Playing as Flins or Nefer More?

I'm debating which of those two characters to pull in the future. It seems like both are very good characters, so what I have ultimately decided to base this decision on is which character you actually enjoy playing with more. Let me know your opinion on this, please?

Flins, much easier to understand, 2 E skill then Q, few normal atks, then E and Q, then restart his rotation by switching to other units, apply hydro, apply electro and come back to flins and repeat

I don’t have Nefer so I can’t compare but I really enjoy Flins’ gameplay so far. And I would enjoy it even more when I get Ineffa because I suck at dodging. I was going to get Nefer because I have Lauma, but after trying her out and knowing her team has no sustain or shield, I just can’t. There are a few characters I can play without shield or healing but Nefer is not one of them because hers is too close combat. So it’s just down to which play style you’re most comfortable with.

If you want to enjoy Nefer I'd highly recommend getting Columbina. Since she genereates additional 3 verdant dew and makes the Nefer rotation *much* smoother.

Both teams will be doing more or less the same damage when built to perfection. Nefer is more 5-star-hungry though since where Flins only wants Ineffa and Columbina, Nefer also wants Lauma.

Nefer's best 6.3 team, the one that does 150k DPS, is: Nefer / Lauma / Columbina / Ineffa. Ineffa is the flexible slot but she is BiS.

I haven't see any calcs with Ineffa yet, only the other usual suspects for 4th slot.

I thought Nahida was generally BIS, especially with cons? I follow the Nefer sub and saw this the other day (not sure how accurate it is):

Fair enough. So the slot is more flexible than I expected. Though the team will reach 150k with Ineffa as well. But what you linked is good for people that have both Flins and Nefer. Since Ineffa can go to Flins and even without Columbina (if we assume she would go to Nefer) that's still a decent team to have.

Flins. Don't have Nefer, but played her trial extensively and her gameplay just didn't clock with me.

With Flins, I use Sucrose, Aino and Dori, with great success. I'll probably replace Dori with Ineffa if I can get her on her rerun.

I have both on separate accounts. I like Flins' rotation more + his quick burst feels good to use. However I don't like the downtime between bursts, makes him feel slow IMO.

Nefer feels better in this regard especially when you do her CA dash cancels. She can unload a lot of damage in a much shorter time compared to Flins plus if you do your rotations right, verdant due isn't really much of an issue.

Nefer is one of my favorite characters and she is ...not very fun to use. Extremely powerful, but not fun.

Flins had a really fun trial. I should have pulled him. I wish his hair wasn't so stupid looking from behind or I probably would have.

Personally I think Nefer is one of the most fun characters lol. Everything about her feels so snappy and you have so much control at all times. The only issue to me is Aino and her circle but Columbina should fix that.

Can't say I understand your sentiment here. You are frantically trying to set everything up off field so you can bring Nefer in and drop 1-6 charged attacks, unloading millions of damage in a few seconds, only to restart the cycle because everything is on such short timers. She doesn't get to normal attack. She doesn't get to do really much of anything except skill and charged attack.

I don't know what you mean by "frantically"? It's the same as every other team. You rotate through your supports and then you swap to your DPS and do their thing and repeat. Flins teams do the exact same thing.

Nefer takes \~10s field time, that is THE STANDARD amount of time most characters take while on field.

Why does her not being able to normal attack matter? MOST characters only use skill or burst and then either NA, CA or sometimes plunge and then maybe use E and/or Q somewhere between.

I don't enjoy the sequence, I don't know what else to say. She comes in and I hold a button for a few seconds. It's too quick.

It's not as fun as someone like Wriothlesly who is actually normal attacking and mixing in charges, or my dps Xianyun who bird bombs like 10 times. Or even Neuvellitte who has to actively use skills and bursts to trigger the fast charged attacks--and whose charges feel much more satisfying, let me add, since they last longer than a second.

Nefer deals more damage than anyone else in my account, but it doesn't *feel* like it has any impact. It's very disappointing.

As opposed to you spamming NA for a few seconds? I guess there is a difference but it doesn't affect me in a negative way at all. If anything I like how smooth Nefer gameplay is.

Neuvillette is LITERALLY the same thing as Nefer lol.

I feel like Nefer has some of the MOST high impact attacks. The fact that there are only 6 of them means that you can count them and they all are very distinct and have good visual and nice audio effects makes it feel great (the same reason I love Varesa). And my favourite thing about it is that if you see that the enemy is at very low health, you can dash cancel the final CA and walk away and the CA finishes behind you and it just feels badass.

i like Varesa's mini burst effect too , like you can feel the power of it. i guess thats the same thing with you enjoying Nefer's charge attack (the 3 slashes) . Personally i dont like how dependent she is on the other unit (even with constellation), like she STILL needs a hydro AND Ascendant Gleam.

i am happy for you though since Columbina apparently is going to greatly enhance your experience playing as Nefer.

Columbina should fix my biggest issue which is having to rely on Aino. And she'll also let me use Lauma's hold E, which is nice!

I don't have Flins, but I don't recommend getting Nefer.

She needs to much to function properly.

You need another NK unit, preferably Lauma. Then you need both NK artifacts active and also the dendro set. And a good hydro application, else you won't attack constantly.

Not many characters fill these gaps and you end up changing artifacts just for her team.

All in all, i like her, no regrets at all, but it's hard to recommend.

Flins is exactly the same. You need another Nod-Krai unit for the team to do good damage, you need both 6.0 artifact sets, you need VV for res shred, you need Hydro application to keep the team going.

Zibai's going to be the same too, minus the need for a res shred artifact set, because Geo doesn't have one. It's just how all of these Nod-Krai carries are designed.

I dunno about Flins specifically, but Nefer goes from like 30k, 40k damage to 70k, 90k, it's a big difference from having Lauma and the sets or not

Guess they'll all follow it along or Columbina is supposed to be the fill all solution to NK

Nefer and Flins both have their team's DPS fall off a cliff without a 5-star Nod-Krai support, by design. The kits force you to use a Nod-Krai support for Ascendant Gleam, and the 4-star options are intentionally awful. They're both also really reliant on their sets. (But regional sets have been so powerful that they're mandatory since Fontaine anyway)

Flins has better Ineffa-less Columbina teams than Nefer has Lauma-less Columbina teams, but that's a pretty minor benefit unless someone hates Ineffa but loves Columbina.

The only thing you need that is unusual or potentially detrimental is Lauma. Hydro slot has a good free option in Aino and artifacts are something EVERY character needs lol.

I have played plenty of Flins and Nefer while helping friends with their end game content.

Flins: Fun, easy to use, best teams have a shield

Nefer: Hard to use properly, best teams are "sustainless" (Prototype Amber), more fun for me personally

Pulled Flins on my main account, happy with what he brought to the table. Works well with Mav, Escoffier and Fischl.

Pulled Nefer on my alt and was very disappointed in her... built Jahoda, she makes Nefer seem good to play. I normally play new characters until they hit friendship level 10 but I am not sure they'll survive that long. I also hate Nefer's ult, it just looks dumb. Ineffa deserves better team mates than those two.

Nod Krai characters have been really hit and miss, with too many of them missing IMO, it feels like Electro is carrying the region so far. I've no interest in the next 2 either... awful designs, easy skips.

I hate the dependency of Nod Krai units between themselves, makes it really restrictive, like I got Lauma and Flinns, the wrong support for the wrong DPS, and there’s no other units that really complement them besides Aino who is trash but unavoidable with Flins if you don’t have Ineffa, Lauma without Nefer is ok but actually kind of limited

Flins. His animations and sounds have weight behind them and there’s a smooth rhythm to his gameplay, and he’s comfortable to use.
Nefer’s sounds are sort of muffled in comparison and the hit sounds lagging behind her dash cancels bother me.

Also dash cancels aren’t hard, but they aren’t fun either. I’m glad Flins doesn’t need all that.

I personally don’t like either. Maybe it was just the teams in trials/quests but I didn’t enjoy playing either of them in any of the scenarios I got to try them. Maybe Flins edges Nefer slightly.

both feel a bit clunky. Sometimes Nefer refuses to do her charged attacks and if the terrain is a bit steep the game doesn't show her ult animation and I hate it. Flins is fine but I don't have Ineffa, so he gets constantly interrupted and feels very squishy.

I'd give it to Flins. Quite easy to use, satisfying and visually pleasing. I just wish his normal auto attacks did more damage.

I still love Nefer and I find her special charged kick to be super satisfying, I just hate how her legs completely fall off if enemies stay out of Aino's circle and you run out of Verdant Dew. Columbina is going to be *huge* for greater Nefer enjoyment.

I might change my answer to Nefer over Flins once we have Bina in the game.

I have Flins + Ineffa on one account and Neffer + Lauma on another.
My very subjuctive personal preference is Flins because Ii love how fast and impactful the rotations are.

If you like them both equally, the question becomes do you like Ineffa or Lauma better? You don't absolutely NEED either of them, but they add a LOT to the team.

I think for most accounts its a bit easier to build a decent team for Flins without Ineffa, than it is to build a decent team for Nefer without Lauma.

im a day 1 player and have all the meta characters so I pretty much only pull for the characters I like at this point. Pulled on nefer cause I thought her design was incredible but i'll be real her gameplay feels really bad. maybe with bina it'll be better but flins feels so much better to play that I would recommend him over her

If you like their characters and you must have them, go for whoever you like better. But if you're pulling for them because of meta, it is better to go for Flins than to go for Nefer. That's because you can get very good dendro damage with bloom reactions so there is really no point in investing in Nefer just for dendro damage. This is the same reason why Alhaithem didn't do so well despite being one of the top DPS back then.

I tried Flins several times (in IT and quests) and didnt like his style as it is too simple. Nefer, in constrast, is quite fun, especially when you're familiar with dash cancel. Her atks feel heavy (SFX) but smooth at the same time. And her burst is worth using (dmg wise and aura farming wise). The only caveat is that verdant dew gen is a bit slow for 6 dash CA in a row, but columbina will fix this.

You should try them out because unlike most comments, I have both enjoy them but Nefer is the most fun to me.

It's because of the charge cancel mechanics and there's more to it like not canceling when you see an enemy moving away so the attack teleports you toward the enemy.

The problem is Nefer desperately needs Lauma and I'm not sure how well she would fare with just Columbina

Flins is a man and Nefer is very cumbersome to use.

She'd be a bit better if her ult applied a shield like Yoimiya. Not good, but not horrible either.

I thought it would be Flins, I very much enjoy Lightning attacks and his overall vibe. So using his big attacks is something I was really looking forward to and until recently that was true.

However than I grinded a Dire clear on my Nefer
Now she's one of my favorite Chars in the entire game.

Ironically not having Lauma is what makes her so fun. Her rotation in general is faster than it needs to be, especially with 2x4\* on the team and me using C2 Nahida Burst only every other rotation.

So I have a lot of free time, time I can use to weave in several NA which by them self do no DMG as they're ATK scaling, but let me tell you Spreads at 300+ Crit DMG and 1400EM HURT ALOT!

And that's what makes her so incredibly fun for me.
During that clear I optimized her gameplay so much, looking for each and every opportunity to get another NA in to beat the time. Genshin is an incredibly fun game when it comes to combat, so I always enjoy it. But Nefer VS Baptist was one of the most fun things I ever did here.

Flins more easier to use than nefer. Damage are nearly same. But because flins have the same damage with nefer while being comfy Flins is the overall better choice.
Nefer team team don't have sustaim. Ineffa is sustain for flins team.
