I genuinely thought I shared a birthday with the traveler

I didnt think that the game would just take my birthday and put it as my travelers birthday I looked so dumb saying that I share a birthday w traveler😭

Plane-Possibility2662026-01-06 16:51

Im dumber because i put my birthday but with a month difference and thought "Oh my birthday is almost the same as traveler but with a month difference"

EducationalTill26812026-01-06 16:54

Mind you I couldve said my bday is a day after keqings or 2 days before wrios and Id be fine😭

DinahqjPig2026-01-07 00:29

Happens to tthee best of us, honestly.

YASKI_EU2026-01-06 16:54

This is adorable lol

ahmadalhuraibi2026-01-06 16:57

Sometimes I wonder if people see the Traveler as a distinct character, rather than just a guy to self-insert into.

EducationalTill26812026-01-06 17:00

I did see him as a distinct character

shirone02026-01-06 17:05

That's what he's meant to be? The traveler has a whole ass sibling and a whole backstory that's going to become relevant one day, they're not self insert

WinWunWon2026-01-07 01:20

I think when the travelers don’t have voiced dialogue with the other characters, it makes them seem kind of self-insert, if that’s even what I’m trying to describe. Just like not a real character. But I have come to feel closer to Lumine as I progress in the story and learn about the travelers.

Just_a_captain_III2026-01-06 18:08

The Traveler works better as a character than a self insert. They have their own lore and motivation and a set personality. Even if Self insert is intended I think Traveler works better as just another established character. Self insert works best when you actually make your character.

2311MEGATON_YT2026-01-06 18:59

At first he felt like I was the one being him but now it feels like I am seeing his journey which I don't know why feels even more connected.

pothosnswords2026-01-06 19:34

Totally agree that it feels more connected weirdly enough! I see Traveler (Lumine for me) as their own character and have since I started but I do that will all video games including Sims so idk lol

ThePoetessOfLesbos2026-01-06 19:32

I self insert as the Traveler in an immersive sense, but I always love Lumine as her own character. I set her birthday as January 1st as an attempt at symbolism. Honestly, I wish I put more thought into it.

Ads10132026-01-06 19:57

I think the Traveler works best when we think of the Player more as a guiding hand rather than as the Traveler. The Traveler has actions that the Player can influence, such as the order of certain content, how thoroughly you explore the world, or some minor dialogue choices, but Traveler has always been the one who decides on major story decisions.

Due_StrawMany2026-01-07 00:11

Alice sees us as two different entities most likely.

Poppindestruction2026-01-07 15:52

I don't even understand how people could self insert on the traveler. They are their own characters, with backstory, motivations and personality.

The travelers are also not interchangeable to me, personally. Lumine traveler os not the same as Aether traveler. Same thing for the abbys sibling. They feel completely different to me.

InukoJon2026-01-06 17:10

I put my traveler’s birthday as the day I started playing. It’s like october 5th I think. I played one day in 2020 then never again til june 2025 and I’ve played every day since except 2 days I was really sick Dx

MindingMyBusiness022026-01-06 17:34

I mean it looks like you do to me

Hikari_Sword2026-01-06 17:43

Reminds me of a DS game where people were saying that the main character shared their birthday, only to find out the game was using the registered birthday in the system. XD

Reasonable_Sugar_1252026-01-06 20:56

I know how you feel. My birthday is the day after Albedo’s.

For now, I have to settle for either that or Durin’s birthday being my half-birthday, so to speak.

jyylivic2026-01-06 21:33

I know a day will come when they run out of days in the year, so don't worry

GoldenAimbot2026-01-06 21:49

I have 2! Paimon & Itto <3

Diii1232026-01-06 21:53

it\`s ok

Oapekay2026-01-06 18:38

My Traveler shares a birthday with my cat, because it was meant to be the shared game I played with my wife (but she tapped out after the first hour), and it made more sense than fighting over who gets to input their birthday.

pothosnswords2026-01-06 19:48

We made ours 4/20 for this exact reason (4/20 was also my dog’s birthday, RIP). Easy to remember

nastrorosso2026-01-06 18:44

I thought the same at first and even told a friend 🫠

Rex_Lapis_2026-01-06 18:50

KenshiLuca2026-01-06 20:18

We have the same bday :o

Southern_Bar61422026-01-06 20:51

mr_beanoz2026-01-06 21:40

Why is Paimon's new English VA not officially credited yet? I thought the new VA has announced it.

Extension_Ad_65762026-01-06 21:46

I thought this at first too 😭😭 i share a bday with beidou instead tho so lowk not mad ✌️

mr_unknown_7892026-01-06 21:48

ranboosmask2026-01-06 22:55

This is genuinely so fucking funny

Glittering-Ad-16262026-01-06 23:02

When I found out Cyno’s birthday was the exact same day as mine, I genuinely thought it was a joke (it was not). And it just makes sense BECAUSE he is the General Mahahahamatra. Get it? We’re like practically twins-

Diency2026-01-06 23:31

I share a birthday with Kaveh! The only four stars I don't have...

genshin_impact-2026-01-06 23:41

My birthday is 3 days after Paimon's birthday.

Asunaris2026-01-06 23:49

Don't feel bad. I knew about it and still don't share the birthday, because the game didn't label the boxes and now my genshin birthday has month and day swapped

Skitty_The_Kitty32252026-01-06 23:52

That's Funny and kinda Cute 😂

Jisoo_Jennie_RoseLis2026-01-07 00:07

omg i remember this!!! when I first started playing in Nov 2021 and it said put ur birthday, my dumbass searched up the travellers birthday online and i didn't know u had to put ur own birthday, i assumed the traveller has their own birthday, but the search results luckily told me to put ur own birthday, so that's what I did

Rezboy2092026-01-07 01:13

Don't worry. My birthday is on Christmas but in game I set it as December 24th.

Then like a month ago I was looking and was like "wow Travelers birthday is a day before mine"

🤦🤦🤦

TheGreatAzure13372026-01-07 01:18

I don't share traveler's birthday but I share it with Tartaglia!
