Anyone used third-party top up sites long term?
Has anyone here actually used third-party top up sites for in-game currency?
Not official stores, but those external sites that sell cheaper top ups.
Just wondering if it worked fine long term or if you ran into problems later (currency removed, bans, etc).

I put together a quick comparison of official prices vs some alternative top ups just to understand the value difference.
If anyone wants to see it, let me know.
Anyone asking for gift cards is an obvious scam, no question about that.
Money they can't directly use(usually gift cards, untraceable, are used to buy stuff and are sold at a discount to the consumer who pays in usable normal cash). As for sources any article talking about why scammers tend to ask for gift cards (or steal credit cards to buy gift cards) should give a better explanation. Probably apple or PayPal support have their own articles as well as it's a rising problem
edit: if you want overall explaining there is this reddit thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/1ckyqu3/eli5_how_do_scammers_extract_money_from_the_gift/
If you want an "authority" quote then stuff like FTC also should have sections talking about this
They buy diretly from the official Hoyo store (thats how you get instant delivery), just in a different country. The savings result from the favorable currency exchange rate, like how the 100USD pack costs 12000 yen, which exchange for 75USD instead.
You could buy directly from other country stores with just a VPN yourself, but you usually need a japanese credit card for that, so bascially thats what you pay for on the external topup sites.
It's the same model buying steam keys from different regions
