Question about Natlan Archon Quest
Didn't post on the mega thread due to it possibly being spoiler heavy.
I just started the Natlan Archon Quests and I'm really anxious about something.
Some time ago I accidentally spoiled myself through a YouTube short talking about late-game Natlan. Is it true that there's a point where mass NPC death occurs? And that it all depends on how well you do during the quest? If so, could anyone please give me tips/advice on how to avoid the worst of it? Just the idea of it has been bothering me a lot and it's only gotten worse now that I've reached Natlan. I don't want to mess anything up.

But don't worry too much about it. There isn't a penalty or anything, if you don't save everybody. I myself found that part very well done, but incredibly stressing. The fact that I was crying my eyes out didn't help too much either. xd I'm sure I could have saved more, but I'll have to live with that now.
It's a bunch of non-important NPCs or some saurians.
>!There is also the obvious example of Chuychu. Unless you meant playable characters!<
I'm pretty sure people got different numbers even with the same actions because it's also affected by how long you take
Part of what makes the war with the abyss in Natlan so real is just that, actual casualties. Just by the presence of that number, you know this is serious and lives are genuinely being lost. Hopefully, you can put a stop to it after centuries of the Natlanese's perseverance and suffering. And remember, those who are lost are never forgotten.
It's on 3rd/ 4th act:
•Defeat the enemies AS FAST AS POSSIBLE (bring your best team).
• Talk to every NPC you find and ALWAYS CHOOSE THE MOST POSITIVE OPTION.
• Now there will choices of area where you will assist them;
Pay close attention to a doctor NPC, save them first.
On 2nd wave if I recall, there's a potioneer (?) NPC or sum that has a medical supplies, save them, also when you talk to them choose the option of stoping them of risking to go out.
On last wave, choose the Mother and Daughter to save over the saurian (it lowers the casualty for most who chose it).
Again, THE FASTER you complete tasks the lower the deaths.
Most of them have nothing to do with the choices you make, but a few do. And no matter what choice you decide to make for those few, you'll save some but others will wind up dead.
For all of the NPCs where your choices matter, they are not NPCs that you knew before the event, and you never meet any of the ones you save after the event. So, it's not as though you're going to accidentally remove a crucial NPC like a tribe chief or something.
Personally, I recommend doing it unspoiled. Make the choices that you think are right, and see what results from them. The emotions hit harder, that way - and this part of the story is all about evoking strong emotions!
Certain choices you make will change who lives or dies, I don't remember exactly but I know there is one where there is someone who is supposed to be relaying messages, after you save him, you can tell him to keep going or you can let him rest, if he rests he survives and a group of other people die, but if he keeps going then he dies by other people survive
you can search up on youtube about which decisions to make. but its basically a matter of being fast, where you’ll decide to go and who to save, and remember to save some people like a NPC’s mother, who is a doc
Spoiler on the one thing that it affects, but it is a minute detail: >!You don't mess anything up, and the only thing that happens, is that there is a memorial built with the number of npc's that died being listed on the memorial if you interact with it.!< Here is when it happens: >!After the fight with the natlan boss, the memorial is the domain entrance to the boss fight in the overworld.!<
Neither of those things are important, but it's there if you want the information !
So, try not to worry. It is a very serious part of the quest, but nothing you do will mess up the story!
The place where this happens in the quest line is Act 4.
And seriously, this is nothing to be anxious about.
