Craft limit is 5, but before recent changes, you couldn't have Crafting Recipe for Condensed Resin before doing it, I think. Or maybe you could? It was small World Quest and Condensed Resin was locked behind Reputation so technically you probably could? Unless the quest to unlock Reputation required this quest that gives you Condensed Resin as a reward. As to why it can be 6 is simple. If cap is 5 and player gets a reward, overcap is normal in this situation, otherwise player would be punished for already having max. It's usual thing with caps in games like that.

No what I meant was if you have 180 resin. You can make 3 condensed resin. So 2 days worth would make 6. But the cap is at 5, and now you have an extra 60 resin sitting that you can't turn into condensed resin till you spend one of your 5.
If the cap is at 6, then you can just condense 2 days of resin, and spend all 6 on the 3rd day.

I recently came into conclusion, that you can have 5 transient resin at the same time.
You buy one from Tubby at Sunday. Then buy one at Monday. That's two. You finish Imaginarium Theater last day and then finish it again when it refreshes. That's four. Now you wait for next Monday and since you bought from Tubby at Sunday, it has 6 days timer. And a third week gives another one from Tubby.
Unless there is some hard cap, that's the number of transient resins at the same time.
You usually can get only two, but because you can buy from Tubby at any day of the week + if the Imaginarium Theater refreshes close to Monday, that's how much you can get.

Except you're completely wrong on how Transient Resin's expire. It's not 2 weeks from when you pick it up, it's 2x Monday's after you pick it up. So that first Transient from Teapot on Sunday would expire after 8 days, not 14.
So max would be 4. 2 From Tubby, 2 from IT if the month changes during that 2 week window.
