Oops. Then WHY THE HECK IS SANDRONE IMMORTAL AND HAS MECHANICAL PARTS!!?! -.-
notthatjaded2026-01-07 06:35
Probably because Alain built her. Or at least I believe that's the going theory.
perfectchaos832026-01-07 06:36
She's likely the Magnum Opus of Alain.
Take another look at the [picture](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/gensin-impact/images/9/91/Item_Unlocked_Treasure_Image.png) shown during this sequence and you'll see one of them has an uncanny resemblance to Sandrone.

Because she's a robot??? She's not Mary Ann the human
Namiko-Yuki2026-01-07 07:46
Mary Ann was killed inside Elynas when the guards tried to stop Rene and Jackob plan and Lyris absorbed her, so the real Mary Ann is merged into the collective conscious of a oceanid.
Alain likely build Sandrone in the Image of his little sister, so she is a robot thus mechanical and immortal.

Alain had a sister named Mary Ann, she died during the battle against the Narzissenkreuz Ordo.
Marionette is a type of french puppet originally used for religious re-enactments hence "little Mary".
So Sandrone is a "little Mary Ann" that Alain Guillotin created in memory of his dead sister. It's why if you look at the picture of the Narzissenkreuz children, Mary Ann looks suspiciously similar to Sandrone, same brown hair and blue eyes, the main difference is that Sandrone has longer hair.

So if you remember how Mary-Ann died from an explosion, so Alain might've saved her by using mek parts to rebuild her as a cyborg. But as for Pulonia, that's just unknown.

[It's this guy](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Carter_Scherbius)
[His story is mostly detailed in the notes found in the buried Institute](https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Ancient_Log)
Alain was the one set on creating life through machines, Rene wanted to ascend lifeforms to higher states of existence and surpass death/fate.
misterkalazar2026-01-07 06:37
No. It was ~~their caretaker,~~ Carter Scherbius, who wasn't a Fontainian (Oceanid human). They gave him the flesh of Abyssal beast (The one Melusines grew from) to treat him, like they treated Jakob.
But he had averse reaction to it, turning him into a goo that sometimes shrieked from pain, they tried to cut off its vocal cords but it grew back.
Then when Rene turned into Narzissencreuz, he merged The goo with himself and other things to become the Tulpa boss we fight.
BulbasaurTreecko2026-01-07 10:53
to clarify, Rene and Jakob’s caretaker was Karl Ingold. Carter worked at the Institute of Natural Philosophy under Alain Guillotin, meeting Rene when he joined the Institute later on

Right, thanks. I have referenced this story multiple times, and yet I still get some details wrong.
The-Local-Lucario2026-01-07 06:39
