I love Columbina and I'll pull for some constellations but that C6 is just ass. 5-stars C6 traditionally unlock gameplay. Supports become main-DPSes, main DPSes get a playstyle change, but Columbina just gets a random team buff and that's it, which sucks, I'd absolutely have gone for C6 if it was more interesting. Furina has the perfect Constellation chain imo, all great from start to finish.

I get what you mean, but I think this also counts for f2p players who really like characters. Some people save for over a year just to max out a specific character on their rerun, simply because they have more fun palying that character than looking at overall account progression. The problem is getting sucked into the norm of that tier of power.
It’s both disappointing to have a C6 and then other newer characters you get are weaker than the C6, and it’s disappointing when your C6 eventually gets powercrept by a C0.
To hold back that ‘disappointment’ you either bite the bullet, or you get more C6’s (which is what the devs want, and what the whales play into), or you decide C0 is all you want.
It’s like level 90 characters and weapon banners for me. Will my characters be stronger with lvl 90 rather than 80, and with signature weapons rather than crafted 4 stars? Of course, but my rate of mat acquisition would not sustain all the lvl 90s, and neither would my sanity and wallet sustain getting signature weapons.
I used to be a $5 daily primogem player, but I’ve been pure free to play for at least since the beginning of Fontaine; I never touch the weapon banner and I only get up to C0. My primogem count has stabilized while enjoying the luxury of getting any 5* character i want, which looks like roughly 70-90% chance any new 5* is one I’ll want.

I was satisfied with my roster and was clearing all spiral content with my squad (using Ningguang of all characters). For me it was 100% worth it. I love Mavuika and she's just so fun to play. Her constellations also just buff her exploration too so I get to use her constantly.

You can clear endgame with good builds and teamcomps tho. You may not be able to clear Dire in SO, but fearless is reachable in favorable conditions and you might not get all stars in IT for bonus rewards but you should be able to get all the primos, especially if you pull multiple C0 characters (F2P primos allow you to guarantee 1 5* per patch, which is at worst 1 limited 5* per two patches, but if you lose you gain a standard so it’s an investment too). 36* abyss is usually not the problem with good builds as well (although you can struggle, but say, 30* should be always possible so you lose minimal amount).
