Worker returning after more than three years
I stopped before Sumeru release, and got back the last month, and it has so many story quests and regions to explore, that i had find myself overwhelmed. So, i like the gameplay, like the exploration, but i did the entire Story in my end of year days off and the story mode is just so massive and boring to play (the story itself is nice, but the gameplay is basically walk, read texts end repeat). I work until night somedays and when i sit to play i don't want to just read texts while pressing a button. You guys have any tips for me to catch up with the main story and unlock the events that require it to be played more efficiently?
(I don't post much in reddit, so if i did it in the wrong place or used the wrong flair, i apologize in advance)

On a more serious note, if you like the story but not the gameplay, you should just follow some content creator on YT who covers story/lore
Yes, i find it would be very more enjoyable to see the story on the YT. Just wish that i had a cousin or a nephew with very much time to spare to clear the missions in game to me. lol
I recommend completing all the Natlan World Quests (except for the Volcano of Tollan and Sunspray Resort; they don’t affect the AQ) **before** starting the final act of Natlan. Also, I recommend completing the Narzissenkreuz World Quest series (Fontaine) before starting Nod Krai’s AQ. Otherwise, World Quests aren’t necessary to proceed and just provide additional context.
My advice to you is to not worry about missing out on current events. Most of them can be **quickstarted** and generally do not spoil that much (there are exceptions sometimes but tbh it can’t be helped if you are too far behind on story). So you can take your time to complete the story at your own pace. Try weaving in some exploration or World Quests to shake things up; for example alternating between “exploring day” and “archon quest day”. So you’re not always just mashing through text.
It might be a bit tricky to find it, but at least now you know there **is** a way to do it, so keep looking thoroughly until you find it.
and imo, read.
