Tips on how to minimize casualties in the Natlan war?
Hello! I'm about to start "The Rainbow Destined to Burn". I've watched several stuff about it and I know how stressful the quest could be.
I haven't unlocked all of Natlan yet and I know arriving to the emergencies ASAP is needed. Do I need to unlock all statues and all waypoints?
And what's the best possible choices can I make once the quest starts?
Your help is very much appreciated!!!

I don’t feel like I did very well minimising casualties, but that’s also kind of the point. Looking back on some of the choices I made, I don’t really see how I could have had a better outcome.
The quest is about war, and it is really heavy.
Spoilers ahead for a more detailed explanation;
The way the war works is that you do a bunch of mini fights all over the map, and where you choose to go affects how well certain areas do. For example on my second choice it was between a scions camp or a group of saurians, I chose the scions camp and amongst them was a doctor who ended up surviving and helping a lot. On my third choice it said the area where the saurians were managed to fight off their attack so they were fine, but the next choice was between some children of echos and the fatui. I chose the children of echos which meant they survived but the fatui lost their battle and I never got the opportunity to go to that area, presumably they all died. I couldn’t tell you how that affected the rest of the battle.
Later you get the choice between searching for survivors between site A or B. Whichever one you chose first you’ll find some people and saurians alive, the one you don’t you’ll visit later and all that’s left is a sea of bodies.
As far as I understand it you’re meant to do what you think is best in the moment, and no matter what you do there will be bad consequences. That’s war. It’s really effective and really painful.
Trying to save everyone will lead to harder paths, but will ultimately help.
Saving the doctor npc also helps.
And most importantly: DON'T GO IDLE DURING THE WAR! I paused the game for lunch, and it caused my death toll to be way higher that it needed to be, so beware! You don't need to be a speedrunner, but don't wait around either.
