General supply/demand trends arent applicable at low supply and demand. Think of art where there theres no general demand, and the artist population can only produce so many works. Price becomes arbitrary and there is no real trend from artwork to artwork. It can be worth nothing, or it can be sold for millions

Religious significance makes demand go up. Ritou has quite a few Mondstadters that probably miss their family and home dearly. Dandelions are said to carry your wishes to the anemo archon, so Mondstadters would want them just for that and to remind them of home.

This is so real lmao, I used to always have 150 million Mora, around 2-3k purple xp notes (value might be wrong but it was in the 4 digits), and regularly hit the 9999 cap on mystic ore. As soon as the Imaginarium Theater forced me to actually build more characters, I've barely had more than 60 million at any time and had to keep juggling farming for ore/xp to keep up with the new characters and their weapons.

Believe it or not I was used to having at least 30mil at any given time that after a character leveling/artifact upgrading spree I was perplexed why I couldn't level up my lvl16 artifact to 20. Turned out I got 4k mora left. The horror! The devastation! Guess who spent 5 hours hunting elite enemies in the overworld only to get 77k mora because I refused to spend resin. I am now up to 17mil but considering I got Bina, Zibai, Illuga to upgrade, I can see even more resinless behavior in my near future.

That was basically 4 years of rarely using them (only had built a handful of strong characters and characters I like throughout those 4 years), all of them being accumulated from dailies/quests, events/rewards and Battle Pass.
Nowadays I barely have enough left for 1 character ahaha, in fact I still haven't finished building all the characters I planned for IT because I ran out, I have to regularly farm them and keep buying them from the teapot

It's not just a weed - it's a plant that can be harvested only by Anemo wielders (!!!), have huge religious value and not commonly accessible (unique plant of Mondstadt, only 56 known flowers).
Price is quite big but I see where did calculation came from.

I used to buy these to meet the weekly quota for the battle pass but over time I realized that most of the stuff I get from the battle pass I do not need since I have an abundance of them. Also that I would reach lvl 50 by doing the bare minimum of logging in doing events and spending resin.
